Yes, I did actually get a kit and one other teammate as well. I have two other considering it right now. It's a great barrel, but the only downside would be that it's very loud and distinct on the field, which could be a handicap depending on what position you're playing. The guys in my squad are basically straight up heavy hitters and we draw most of the attention so the snake players and crawlers can sneak up and bunker the opponent, so in this situation it definitely has worked to our advantage. I wouldn't recommend it if you were stalking and trying to keep a low profile on the field. Other than that, the barrel system works great. I shoot through even some of the thickest breaks. The craftmanship is superb as well as the customer service. The cosmetics work perfectly with my E-Tac scenario setup. Thanks.
If you never have used one you really don't know anything about it. I have used and played with barrels like Freak, Pipe, boomstick, Stiffy ect. I feel the Poison is the all around better barrel.

Heh, all kits shoot abotu the same, the Equation kits were nice and I had 2 but now ive gon back to just shooting my ultralights and Ti's why? They shoot amazing and a kit really doesnt do all that much. Hell I ram everything through my 688 TI's with no problems.

im calling BS. A TUBE IS A TUBE, dont you understand this? smootheness matters to a point, but not to the point that barrel companies hype it up to. Grab what you like, what you think looks good. I love CP singlepiece barrels, but im partial to the ultralight, its what ive been shooting for a while, and i like the looks and the quality put into the barrel. how about a dye UL back with a stiffi tip?. that would be pretty hot as well.

there is no difference in barrels, unless they are crappilly manufactured, and even then, a pvc pipe shoots well too.

the poision arrow is over hyped, so is the longbow system, etc etc.

Happy to say I don't own one, because I've been suckered into buying $200 barrel systems before and they don't do squat, except make the owner look silly pre-game while they're dropping paintballs through their barrels and blowing them out the other end. A barrel is a barrel is a barrel. I'm confident the laws of physics don't cease to exist inside the Poison Arrow, therefore it cannot shoot any different than my $45 CP single-piece.

Seems like people glossed over what I said....

Kits don't matter, they all shoot the same, wether its inserts, backs, plugs what have you.

honestly if you want to buy a barrel kit go buy the 3A kit, its cheap and gives you a ton of options.

Or if you want one of the best barrels I have heard about, but don't care about the finish, go get a brass Palmers barrel, brass is a better material for barrels than aluminum.

They all shoot the same, doesn't matter if its a cheap 3a kit or a SS freak, or a match stick set, everything shot the same
Word. Barrel kits are good for some things. Autocockers, and making sure you can shoot whatever the field feeds you. Not many .696 one piece barrels out there. Also, having different lengths available is kind of nice.

Accuracy in paintball lies with the paint.

Let me clarify that, brass is better for paintball barrels.

                    Taken from Palmers site

"Sleeveless Palmer Cocker barrel. The combination of a; .690 bore, spiral vented, polished raw brass inner wall, and the wedgit system will allow you to shoot any size ball you want. The spiral venting will increase consistency, improve on shot group sizes/accuracy a bit and reduce the sound of the shot considerably. The controlled dents (Wedgits) at the start of the barrel will hold small balls in place and keep them from rolling out of the barrel. They also increase your consistency. The raw brass also has the lowest drag coefficient to gelatin and machines smoother than most other materials. This equals less spin on the ball. Shrouds will not work with this barrel. "

exactly. if you have a closed-bolt marker you NEED the paint/barrel match since it acts as your 'detent.' without it, you would be dropping paint out of your barrel left and right. On my viking, My pipe kit AND my 691 UL shoot exactly the same, pretty much.

then how come my A-5 barrel shoot curvy and all over the place, like there was a ball breakage every second almost, and my friends A-5 shoot perfectly.
I wanna X-mag, but im too poor.

lots of factors could cause that.

Did you not clean your barrel after a break? or the vent holes plugged? are you using the same paint from the same bag? shooting the same velocity?

maybe you don't know how to shoot a gun consistantly i kid

Wow I didn't realize I was going to start a war when I started this thread. I was just trying to get some opinions on barrels. You guys do however have me second guessing the poison arrow. I'm not sure what I should get now. I do kind of like the idea of an ultralight with a stiffi tip, any thoughts on that?
