we played a tourney this past weekend and there was a team that was using ramping shockers. we maxed them. it doesnt matter how much you can shoot cause the right amount of skill will always win. oh yeah the intelli-angels are just as fast as ramping shockers and they are legal.Comment

first off, a team having matching markers dosent make them "special" but, thats besides the point.
Playing CFOA, its not a big deal, 15bps capped ramping, all the same, but, at other local tournies, there is definately a fairly high number of obviously illegal markers. Hell, i played a toureny this weekend where a team had up an advantage pb banner (they make ramping chips/boards) and it was obvious that they were putting those chips to good use in games, but, the field owner didnt do a darn thing about it, and rebound shockers have to be the most obvious of all ramping markers (yeah yeah, it only lowers debounce, whatever) you hear them go slow for 5 shots, then take off and stay that way.
Honestly, we took first that tourney with legal markers, our whole team has very quick fingers, but, i really dont think bps won it for us. I can shoot fast enough to the point that off the break, i can basicially just shoot an opponents lane out of the air by putting up a wall of paint as i run (well, mabey slight exaggeration
) but, have done that before. I think a fast legal marker is just as good on the field as a ramping marker. IF you try and run throgh or snap into 16 or 22bps, your SOL either way.

68magowner: I know it doesn't make them special, but they sure did look different then the other teams, in fact i think one team had someone with a spyder imagine 04 and somebody on the same team had an alias. It was weird
But thanks for all the input guys. I agree with what all of you are thinking. And anyways ,6 bps does the same as 22 bps, so that's what i think. But thanks anyways.Comment

Another idea, i had brought this up with the owner and he wanted me to think of some new tourney rules so it could be fun for everyone, not just the ones that can shoot like crazy. So, if any of you have any ideas for what would be good tourney rules just post em here. thanks again.Comment

new rules you say? how 'bout pump only? makes the games a lot better to watch cause people actualy move instead of just siting and shooting till half to other team is out.Comment

lol i definitely didn't see that one comming. But that's an interesting idea! In fact, i bet i know i few stock class speedball players in my area...Comment

Even though kids now ramp, unless you have the skill in you to back that ramping gun, you have nothing. I dont mind ramping at all, I ramp and have to say I love it. Paintball is changing....sooner or later they will address this problem with a universal rule or something, but until then deal with it.Comment

the only problem i have with ramping is making sure it is equally enforced. the 15bps cap is a good idea if everyone uses it. sure it takes skill to pull a trigger legally that fast and you would hamper those that have that ability. i would argue though people that can do that have more than that one trick in their bag and are prolly pretty decent players. it sorta levels the playing field and i would think it would cut down on cheating and force people to work on their playing ability. its like the extreme version of a pump only tourny, everyone shoots the same speed so it all comes down to player skill.Comment

yeah i think what all of you say is right. It's just it's kinda sad to watch so many people get hit off the break, you know?Comment

the only people arguing against ramping are the people doing it. nobody wants to give up power. frankly I think it kills the sport. 22 rounds per second is retarded. even 14 which i think is the most someone can legally walk is extremely fast and people don't understand that.
it's stupid *** companies like dye and SP that keep advertising 30bps and crap.Comment

THERE ARE RULES. every tourney has rules, every field has rules, but without refs or owners constantly watching over people this will be an issue.
its like being pulled dover by a super duper state trooper and saying my car speedometer says i can go 150 officer, so its ok.
well that would be fine if there were no rules, but there are. just because you CAN do it does NOT mean you SHOULD.my feedback
