well first of all we had a few nominees that were dq'd for various reasons.

just so happens this month was all mags.

btw i think that should have been the case having been AO and everything.

if your "timmy"(example) was on the timmy owners group for a gotm would it win? ifnot why should it here?

we also had 3 judges that didnt get votes into me so that diddnt help either.

if you can judge within 24 hrs of the gotm winning feel free to be a jugde

btw more than 17 prefferable and post count over atleast..50..maybe 100..

and im with big E, if all were gonna get is complaining for doing this..then its hardly worth doing...

actually it JUST SO HAPPENS that this month AND last months was all mags. Even over some of the finest and rarest guns around.

If the case is that a timmy would win on a timmy owners group site, then the thread would prolly timmy of the month as they are w/ most other forums on other sites. That is why I think it should be called MAG of the month if only mags are going to be selected even over a more rare, nicer gat. Take RKjuniors viking for example. Custom milled and anodized, and that is prolly 1 in 100 or maybe even less. Its a rare find, and much better looking/shooting than any mags.

The judges fail to recognize that. That is my point.

So my recommendation is to rename it Mag of the month, instead of GOTM. It should be MOTM.

Okay.. as one of the judges... I voted for some of the other non mag based guns, But the way it works is the guns that have the most votes compiled from 5 judges pics of 5 get to be the final 5 GOTM contestants..

So really this final 5 could be picked from relistically 20 individual markers with five of the judges voting on 1 of the same guns.. Yes a little bit of personal taste is involved. But notice all the mags picked for this months list are actually slightly custom guns, Huh we do vote for most unique you know and not for nothing no matter how many times you stack it up an AKA marker that is " custom " milled by JMJ mean nothing to alot of people because its still a cookie cutter gun.

And to further say it again.... There were a bunch of guns DQ'ed for various reasons.. dont think your slick and enter GOTM on AO and try and sell your gun on PBN doesnt work.....

And remember folks.. this is " AUTOMAGS.ORG " not " Randomgun.org " so yes were all a little biased towards mags

like mags get any different? there are only so many body/rail combos out there. If a milling viking is still a cookie cutter viking, what makes a warped mag so unique? if anything, the pieces to build those are MUCH more common and readily available.

(for the record, it was milled by DC and it's 1 of maybe 10 03's custom milled by them - 1 of 1 with an evolve frame)

Have you asked?
Even if you personally voted all Ions, another judge would have to vote for one as well to make GOTM voting for it.
Who knows what kind of final voting we would have with you(WARPED1), Magman007(Matrix) and Steelrat(AKA/Excal) as judges the same month. Throw in Weltman and it might get real interesting.

At least that way others will not waste their time putting their pride and joys up and get beat by a lesser gun. I just dont see why the judges have NO appreciation for any other gun besides a mag.

I do not feel that any of the chosen markers are "LESSER" markers.
These are judges choices.

I also don't feel that I am biased towards mags...show me something I (ME ,NOT YOU, ME!!!) havent seen before or seen something like...I will likely put it in my vote.
I have seen countless Vikings around my area. Cut,chopped annoed PC etc.
Cockers are the same. I live in NOR CAL ,at one point this was cocker land. I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF COCKERS in MANY custom cuts and colors.
So to cockers...maybe my eyes are closed for the most part.
Some times I like the classic CLEAN mag look. sometimes there is an unspoken beauty in a clean single color anno WHATEVER marker.
But none of the "other" markers presented grabbed me THIS TIME.

Me, I Like mags, not LOVE, no worship,not hold sacred...I LIKE them.
There PLENTY of average if not downright uggo mags put up every month...and NONE of them are chosen.
But the owners go on using them.
None get bent out of shape about not being picked.
They go on with their lives, because STOPPING the world to rant because 5 people didn't think their marker was all that special( or agree with their CHOICES)...is DAMN SILLY.
So is putting a good thing in turmoil because of the same reasons .

To make it CLEAR
I like nearly ALL markers.
Heck, at one point or another I have probably owned a version or 2 of EVERY marker out there.

Some are beautiful.
Some are functional.
Some are just interesting.

On the day we picked , these are the choices I made.
Maybe if there were more of something and less of another...I may have voted different.
But, there wasn't, so I didn't

Like it has been said before.
Don't like it?
You be a judge.
You run the GOTM
You get sponsors to put up prizes.
You pay attention to the thread for GOTM to see who is violating what rule and what markers catch your eye.

Just do it folks.

Don't BOOHOO the choices we made then bascily DIS us for OUR personal likes and dislikes.

Your choices next time may not be to my liking ...but I will vote on whatever you chose to offer up.

this is a mag site. There is nothing interesting about warps, zgrips, and the like. Theyve been out for years. They are so unwanted, even AGD was giving them away w/ purchase of a warp body.

I used to think warps were interesting and unique about 2-3 years ago.

Ive just said that it should be Mag of the month. Even one of the judges above already said that this is a mag site, so of course they are biased toward mags.

Im kinda tired of a small minority group of ppl trying to 'win' the site back for Mags only. I LIKE mags too. I just am not biased toward ANY guns. And vikings are not cookie cutter guns. Thats shows how much the judges know about guns. There are just as many vikings (maybe less) than there are emags made. I think that they are more unique, and compared to most of the guns chosen here, that one and the PM5 were both nicer than most of the mags selected.

Please rename it Mag of the Month. Thats all Im asking.

I happen to not agree with you. No problem there.
I have OWNED 2 Vikings. I like them. One was a 2nd hand DC model. I didnt think all that much of it. It was pretty. But not AWE inspiring 1 of a kind...because my buddy had one and so did another kid at one of the fields I played at.
To ME they aren't unique.

Questioning how much I know about markers because I do NOT agree with your opinion...there I have an issue.

As I said earlier, I could care less that my viking wasn't picked. The ones that were picked look equally as nice, good for them.

BUT, being the "gun of the month" on automags.org -- I think AO should have a say in the voting.

Once the month closes, I think a new poll should go up for 1 week - showing every marker that has entered. It wouldn't take that long to copy/paste links to every image. Once *AO* picks the top 5, then I say leave it a group of 5 "guest" judges picked the month prior to decide amongst the 5 that automags.org picked from the entries.

Just my 2 cents to make it as fair and unbias as possible.
