    Barrel kits...

OK so i need a barrel and im looking into a barrel kit since everyone says paint to bore match is so important.Anyways i was just wondering what are some good barrel kits out there.

A couple i was looking at in particular were the J&J edge kit and the warped sportz lucky13 kit i think they are called. Anyone have any expeirence with these barrels?

Also any recomendations are nice as well....im looking for something a little cheap like no more than prolly 160ish.

Also how many differerent size bore barrels should i get i guess im askign how big of a kit do i need for "optomum" performance?

The most important question is what kind of gun are you using? If its closed bolt (cocker) then the more bore sizes the better. IF its anything else just get yourself a good .691 barrel and be happy. The J&J edge kit is a nice kit. I also like the Hammer Head. Not sure what the price is on the HH right now. But you might be able to get a 3 bore and 1 front kit for the price your looking for.

      I own the
      lucky 13 kit 3 piece
      the kaner kit 7 piece
      the empire kit 5 piece
      and the stiffi 5 piece

I think the the empire shoots the best , the stiffi is a close second

I use the freak kit, (yes I know SP is teh suxxors), just because there are so many different add-ons NOT made by SP. Things like the flash points cracked out by doc, and such.

imo barrel kits only make a noticable difference on closed bolt markers like cockers. I use a 14"Dye Aluminum on my emag and a WS Dark series one piece on my Angel.

here's some good info on barrel kits

Always liked the scepter kit, nice smooth locking system and shoot great for me. You can pick up a used 5 peice kit for 100-120 or so.

You don't need a barrel kit. All you need is a .689 barrel. If the ball is a bit loose, it doesn't matter. A .691 could be handy on rare occassion if the paintballs are swollen or something.

Why does that make any difference?

ok wait paint to barrle matchs work good with any marker open or closed think about it they all do the same push the ball down the barrle.....if there is presure behind the ball it will lunch it self useing little air, but with a big bore it can roll down so you have to use more hair to build up that presure...

sorry i dont even know if this is correct i have no info but this is just what i think i would love it if someone could shed some light on this for me i am intrested in this now

                        sorry about spelling

The last time i started this post, there were votes for the:

                          Sceptor
                          J&J Edge Kit
                          Hammerhead
                          Longbow

I couldnt decide, so i bought them all.

Markoger had the Stiffi kit so i didnt get that one.

I still had the freak too.

Well, i sold the Freak, I am SP FREE!

I am real close to throwing the Hammerhead in the garbage, but i will keep trying it with different paint. we play ALOT so i am no giving up for the price i paid for it. Dont waste your money!!!

the Sceptor is a Freak, just a little, and i mean a Little better. no difference. some paint shoots like darts, some all over the place. if you like the freak, keep the freak, or get this and get a freak with out having a freak!

the long bow is nice, need more backs, but it is nice. Shoots well!

My Vote is the J&J, hands down, So Far, the J&J.

It was nice in close on the balloon fields and in the woods if was nice too. I will get 12" and 14" front for it to have the switch up.

Does Come down to quality of paint all the time. the better the paint, the better the day you will have.

I shoot only Mags, for those that were goingto ask.

                          Eric

Anyone know of a shop carrying the J&J Edge Kit? PaintballGear was carrying them but they seem to have sold out.
