I'm using a UL kit right now and I havent had anything better. I noticed a big difference at the chrono.

well then i take back my last remark i didnt over think it ..i was right on target...yea thanks for the correction.Originally posted by FallNAngelNo, mag's are open bolt. Your definition of open / closed bolt is completely off. Look down the feedneck of a marker when it's air up. If you see the bolt blocking the feedneck (such as an Autococker, Excal, etc) then it's closed bolt. If you see the bottom of the breech, it's open bolt.
Open / Closed bolt refers to the position of the bolt at rest, it has nothing to do with whether you can see the bolt on the outside of the gun or not. That would be enclosed bolt.
As for barrel kit of preference, I love my Scepter.
yea i like the lucky 15 and have heard good things about it but i also like the sceptor its nice looking then i also like the price of the edge kit..hmmm so many choices i got a little time to think about it...

EmagOriginally posted by SpecialBlend2786they are quiet for you but loud for whatever you are shooting at because of the angle of the ports. They are great but the tips are a little weak. Evil fixed this with the new style pipe tips.

Yes, 4 detents, two to prevent the ball from rolling forward, two to prevent it from rolling back. You still need a good paint/barrel match though.Originally posted by MadPSIencemy excalibur has 4 detents... rolling forward is simply not a possibility.O-Ring Kits FS: Matrix/DM4 / Freestyle / Intimidator / Shocker SFT & More!

Owning a Lucky 15, and having shot a J&J Edge, I'd pick the Lucky 15. I also own a Freak for my Ion, not that I really use it as a Freak, I usually just run a .693 all the time lol.Originally posted by CKY_AllianceOK so i need a barrel and im looking into a barrel kit since everyone says paint to bore match is so important.Anyways i was just wondering what are some good barrel kits out there.
A couple i was looking at in particular were the J&J edge kit and the warped sportz lucky13 kit i think they are called. Anyone have any expeirence with these barrels?
Also any recomendations are nice as well....im looking for something a little cheap like no more than prolly 160ish.
Also how many differerent size bore barrels should i get i guess im askign how big of a kit do i need for "optomum" performance?
The biggets Kit you'd technically "need" is a 3 piece with spacing ~.004 appart from eachother. This will cover the majority of all paint you'll shoot throughout your paintball career. Any kit that covers between ~.684 to .695 will be enough with 3 bores. Being able to match paint, while important for consistency, can be severely overdone IMHO with kits like the Freak with people who aren't looking for a good match but a "perfect fit". With my E-Mag Lucky 15, a borrowed Freack Cocker back and Diablo White Box paint (yeah, the good stuff lol) I can get close to ball on ball out to around 50' with either kit running the same size advertized bore. If I nit-pick with the Freak it doesn't get better by going to an inbetween size which the paint still blew through easily. Keep going smaller and things start to become a little detrimental for a bit then they get better again. Freak vs. Lucky 15, both barrels shoot very similarly from what I can tell based on game play experience and range time for groupings with a good paint match.
Also, if your budget is limited, and there's nothing wrong with that, you can also purchase a large bore (.693-ish typically) and then buy a couple of LAPCO breach sizers for small and medium bore (though admittedly this will only work if you have a ULE body).
I can also say that I have a bias for one piece barrels, kits like the Freak and Edge are on the fringe of "gimmicky" and I've seen Freaks, new style Boom sticks, and other barrels with interchangable parts that haven't had the backs line up propperly with the fronts (i.e. the step isn't even all the way around the internal surface of the barrel) which doesn't sit well with me and I'm sure has an effect on overall consitancy of the barrel.
