Overshooting? How far HAS it gone?

We just had a game this weekend and was a blast. BUT, there were some issues. And it seems that these OVERSHOOTING issues keep getting bigger and bigger.

First it was the guy that says, He over shot me. Then the ref yanks him off and has a word with the owner. Then another, then another.

Finally it gets to the point when you are afraid to put a few to many shots on a guy without a complaint. To top off of the cake of PussWads, there are Wipers that need to GET their a--es Shot up...

We walked one guy over to another team to have him apologize for an overshooting incident. When he was there making the apology, the recipient of the apology wouldn't even recognize him being there talking. it was the worst show if poor sportsmanship I have ever seen.

Just cant see it. I personally don't complain about it. I just walk off. I play with Tee's and Sleeveless shirts, and shorts. Maybe IM sick but the sting makes me feel like it is worth it.

Hey you don't complain about being tackled in football?
Being hit by a car in a Demo-Derby?

Just need people to check their ego's at the gate, and really think before playing. It is humbling when 12 year olds are crying like the 30 year olds out there.

Well, just my two cents, am I wrong?
And you Speedballers, you put all kinds of balls on guys, I know, they don't complain.

And the going off the field SCREAMING and YELLING swears, throwing the guns and quitting because you caught a couple of extra balls, well that's the funniest thing i have ever seen.

    then it pisses me OFF.

there is no need for it. it is childish and to see grown men doing it, it is AWFULL for the sport. GROW UP. Make your complaint like a man, do it with dignity, be a MAN.

I cant stand it and i saw it this weekend all over the place. I wont have On My Team...
I have JR members that are better men than the player i saw this weekend. RICK!

Some people just need to find another hobby and I hope they are seeing this thread....

    GROW UP, take up GOLF!

Sounds like you need to find a new field. If that many ppl are wiping and then other people are complaining about being overshot then I would go to a different field. I know first hand about trying to be nice and only shoot someone 3 times. I bunkered the person and shot him 3 times and he then got up and shot me 5 times. I turned around and yelled "are u kidding me". He turns around and there are 3 shots on his back and he does not leave until I show a ref. Next time I bunker some one I will make sure to shot them 6-7 times so they leave and not try to play on. its hard to wipe 6-7 shots and I also dont think that si overshooting, so shoot them that many times or find a new place to play at.

I have seen grown man complan about over shooting.
I took this guy out, and as hes walking off, he walks into a lane, and HIS OWN TEAMMATE lits him up(about 3 shoots to teh back.) the guy starts yelling and screaming at me. Of course, me being a hardass, I yell and scream back at him. The ref drags the guy off the field.
After the game, the guy left.

No this is a great field, trust me, the problem was this one team there and the fact that they were just to shy to the fact of being shot i think. it was getting out of hand. It doesnt happen all the time. But was wondering if there was feeling about getting hit a few times or just once? I like to get a few shots in to make it known that a hit has taken place.

if they are hit and dont take it upon themself to walk off, or i see them wipe, then may GOD have MErcy on their SOUL!

As i said, Great Field, Real Subject, Poor Sports. Tired of having to feel if i have hurt some ones feelings every time i shoot someone. I am going to eliminate people. how ever that may be, eliminate it will be...

In a rec game if you break more than three balls on them then you're probably over shooting. Most of the time when someone is complaining about being overshot I ask the ref if he sees more than three break. If the ref (or I myself) see more then three breaks I make sure to apologize.

This doesn't always work because the other guy doesn't always take it well. I just keep saying show me more than three breaks. I never get worked up because I guess I'm not a "hardass."

Yea i get over shot all the time i just take it,it's part of the game no need to ***** about it.
I was playing speedball the other day and i went to the dorito and a guy was at the stand up and it looked like he was re loadign so i run and shoot right when i pull the trigger (at the point of no return) i relize hes wlakign off....well i took one in the mask form thier back guy and game was over and i was like sorry man i didnt know you were out i didnt relize til after i ocmmited i was liek sorry about that...well apperently he didnt hear me and kept *****ing saying how once he gets soem money hes gonna buy a case of paint and overshoot the MF'er that did it..so i calmy say "yea it was me" he was like o and i explained what happend...*****ing/crying is pointless it accomplishes nothing (in this sport) you know the possibilities before you play so just suck it up and go on about oyur day.

i dont mind bonus balls, in fact, i expect to take a few in the back as im leaving the field, thats just how it, is, and, hell, as long as the opponents are shooting at me, then theyer not shooting at my live teammates, so, why should i care

Funny I should happen upon this post. I was one of the players dragged off the field for over-shooting that day, like Eric said when I tried to apologize - (I honestly felt bad, it wasn't my intention to ruin anyones good time) - the guy basically told me to go to hell. Its sad to see players acting so childishly, especially when they are 'the general' of the opposing team. I think the main reason homeboy got so angry was the fact that I managed to get within 30 feet of him without his even noticing that I wasn't on his team! - Hell, I didnt even know he was the general until he turned to see who was behind him and I saw his command-staff arm band. I think that was the main reson I let off as many rounds as I did.
As for the field, Strategy Plus is a great field. The fact that the reffs managed to hunt down a faceless rec player like myself on a large woodsball field speaks volumes.

well in good old Canada no one has complained(that i have seen) about "over shooting". i know what you mean you like getting hit more then once.....it just what you think should happen...i mean if one ball hits you then ether a lucky shot or hes just good..3 balls hit you. you know there was nothin you can do...

Good so far i guess it isnt just me?

Some of these guys havent been to the BIG GAMES. We go to the Games where the final battles are so gut wrenching, you are in tears at the end. And I am Mean tears of JOY!

Like Shatner Ball. We were welted for a week. I was wearing nothing but the AO Jersie and I loved all the SHots I took. D-Day, Castle Quest and all of the Big finally games, they are the best and the roughest, Love and dream of them. But I can see you not liking them? NOT> Get OUT!

Thats the Sport, getting hit, unless you are that damm good. taking a few balls walking oof the field is another given. expect it. WTF

These Guy were so bent out shape they were ready to leave. I cant see playing the game they would have in mind. I dont want to play with pansies!

Real Men have Balls, and they Throw them at 285fps...

You are RIGHT, Great field, and you are a GReat player. trying to do the right thing, and he was being the PRick. Bad Show on his part and you need to know that you ar the man here. His team was the only guys complaing all DAY. throwing tantrums, pissing, moaning, crying, swearing, making A--es of themselves and crapping all over thier teams name. and what you gave him a few balls? BOO HOO. this is a Hard sport, Play Speed Ball.
Our Team Plays Speed Ball with the Fields Team to get some speed work in and they stomp on us alot. they are hard workers and if you ever go to a pro game, you see what they are made of. we never complain, just lick it up and rack-um, thats what we say. lets roll again.

Your a Class Act in our book Chief and the Refs at the field were Great this weekend answering all the BOGUS complaints.
They need to bring their nanny's next time. maybe thier blanky's too! BaBa's Cribs, Teddy bears....

Ya I feel that. When the whole incedent went down I couldent help but think of what this guy would do at some of the bigger games Ive been to. The games where you have 30+ players shooting at you at once.
