I see absolutely no reason to take more than 3 hits from a semi close shot. If 3 hits all bounce, there's either something wrong with the paint or with what the other person is wearing. Now if someone is ripping across the field and I step out into a hail of paint, well that's not their fault... intentionally ripping on someone, I just can't see the point.

It's an unfortunate byproduct of speedball, and something that will surely be debated as paintball moves into the future.
The first time I dealt with overshooting was when a guy bunkered me and shot me 6-10 times in the leg. I was a little upset, but ya know what, after the fact I realized I was probably more upset because it hurt like hell(o) getting nailed from 4ft away. Oh well, it's part of the game...if it wasn't, it would be laser tag.

The second time, it was I that was accused of overshooting. I had taken a teammate and worked my way behind an enemy position. I knew that if I didn't get both opponents out from behind...I'd be toast as I had zero cover. So, I fired 3 shots dead on one of the guys from about 20ft...then about 6 on his partner from the same distance. Both players were startled...the first guy called himself out without even checking. The second guy actually started checking for paint...so I fired 5-6 more shots at him. Then...he starts screaming about being out already and that I was this and that (not nice names).

Overshooting (in my opinion) is getting worse because of 3 factors:
      1) Age of players being lower and coaching not at the level it is in established team sports.
      2) Guns now shoot 9-12bps with better accuracy than their 3-5bps inaccurate predecessors.
      3) The sport has gotten more competitive and cheating has started to get out of control. Many times the people that complain the most about overshooting are the same ones that believe, "cheating is only cheating if you get caught"...they wipe...they get overshot...they complain.

Personally, how I feel when I get overshot depends on whether I'm in the game or not. I don't care if a guy hits me 6-10 times trying to get me out. I'd appreciate if he'd offer me a surrender if he's within 6ft...but to each their own. What I don't take well is when I'm walking off the field with my gun in the air and some idiot not paying attention nails me 2-3 times in the neck. On the flipside...I don't feel bad about hitting some a$s*$&^ with a shocker (who's been tearing up rec players all day) a good 6-9 times. On the other hand...I have shot newbies and kids and felt real bad about it...even if it was only 3-5 shots...I remember hitting this one smaller kid from about 16ft...probably shot 5 times...maybe 3 hit him...but they were hard shots and the kid didn't know I was there and got scared. I felt bad about that because the kid was scared and crying.

Its disappointing that more experienced players get shot a few times and start crying about it to people and make them do something about it... Im 14 and get ripped about 8 times at the most at once and don't do anything... I know he's making sure Im out because thats the way I am too but if hes constantly shooting, I turn around and shoot up and down his --- and maybe he'll figure what hes been doing to others
