if anyone cares here is a reply from Rocky off of PBN

"Real Quick! I would like to apologize for my behavior! I was pretty mad at the call. Its not the first time that has happen to us, and I just reached my limit!

As far a boycotting, People say things (at least I did) that they dont mean. So we will most likely be at the next event.

We are primarly focusing on the NPPL, but X ball is fun and as long as our competition (other pro teams) attend plan on the dogs being there.

    thanks again!
    Rocky"

That vidoe is a prime example of why Paintball is not suited for television.

The childish behaviour and lack of proffesionalism from everyone involved was pathetic.

The swearing and accusations thrown directly at the officials and behind the officials back (but on camera) would be enough to get a team seriously penalised in a "real" professional sport.

And that rub up against the bunker at the end of the run was REALLY shady....

I don't know I've seen plenty of hockey games with an equal amout of vulgarity thrown at the officials and yeah it cost them a few minutes in the box but nothing more. Sports involve foul language there is no real way around that. I think the lack of conviction by officals is much more of a detraction to paintballs TV case than swearing and childish behavior. I mean what are pro athletes if not a bunch of cry babies who yell and scream when they don't get their way. As for the dogs and PSP meh it's just another drama fest in pro paintball.

You know.. I agree with you on that. I beleive childish behavior, arguing, throwing fits, hitting camereman, threatning refs, swearing, etc all have no place on television or in professional sports. Then I watch hockey / baseball / football / basketball / Nascar and see I'm wrong...

I may have been a little over the top. Mea Culpa.

                But...

Nascar guys get fines if they swear on camera.
Baseball players get ejected from the game.
                Coaches get ejected for games.
Coaches would get ejected from more than a game if caught calling the oficials a bunch of M### F##ers on video or tape.
Football players get fined if they showoff too much after a TD.

All those sports are trying to impose standards concerning their public image. PB's public image almost focuses on the Badboy image and undesirable behaviour.

But those actions had concequences. In PB similar actions are ignored or even glorified as part of the teams image.

But look at athletes like Dennis Rodman, he made as much for his "bad boy" image as he did for his ability to play, or even the Pistons of that era as a whole. Image does mean something, and I agree its a problem with the images that seem to get glorified, but I think its a far bigger problem then just PB - not that that excuses our actions or inactions. I agree with you on the base with the problem, but do not look at it as as exclusive to paintball as some of us seem to think.

But he only gets away with the bad boy image because he is good. In paintball, some teams and individuals are nothing but image.

Still, the worst behaving players in established sports can only get away with so much.

Paintball has to start making the same restrictions and making the hotheads the exception, not the rule.

I think, professional sports in general (and for some reason 90% of the rec tournament players in PB thinks there a professional), and there participants, get away with far far too much and there "bad" acts are far to glamorized by the media, both on and off the field.

Damn, they are really mad. But I doubt they are really going to boycott PSP. That would be a stupid move on thier part IMO. They could lose sponsorships and money amoung other things.
I hope we see them again.
