Yeah, I agree wit those guys. Or you could show them ME! Come on, Im 12, and I have already gone thru my tippy. Plus, if you have any siblings that ever want to play paintball, just give the gun to him/her, or you could sell it.. Well, how I got my mag was:
I wanted TONS of upgrades for my tippy for xmas(it probally totaled around 200 bucks )then my little 10 year old brother wanted a spyder, or a rebel, or one of those newbie guns that were cheap. That was around 140 bucks wit all the equipment.. so my older brother is like: "Why dont we just buy a new gun for Adam? Me: I WANT AN AUTOMAG!!! Brother: I mean, you'll end up spending around 300 dollars anyway.. and just buy a mask for Clark(little brother) and give the Tippmann to him, and buy a tank for Adam, you'll end up spending about the same amount of money.
.. and, well, my mom did that, and now, im so lucky to have my tank break in the mail, now I bought a nitro tank!
Make sure you get one of those when you get your mag.

foo, quick suggestion, get your parents to try laser tag. it is similar to paintball and may sway your parents to let you get the gun you want. it worked on my friends parents.

        Ok...
        1. My parents are almost both senior citizens.
        2. They know about the 1st gun
        3. I'll try comparing paintball guns to wine.
        4. My dad hates any extreme sport and most contact sports.
        5. My parents would never play laser tag, go to a paintball field, or even go kart.
        6. I think they know it isn't war. They just don't like the idea of 300 fps paintballs flying around in the air... I'm the youngest child in the family so they're still overprotective...
        7. They don't want me to buy a second gun.

why don't you give your 1st gun a chance? have you ever used it before? you say you only play 4 times a year, what is the point of getting a new gun? i'm sure you have heard this a million times but the gun doesn't make the player.

Sure... I'll give it a chance... but I'd like a new gun in line after I play. This thing almost weights 2 times heavier than an emag... I'm just wanting a second gun. Even a spyder would make me happy at this point.

I agree with 187, why do you need a second gun? I didn't get a second gun till I was playing for about 2years, and after that I didn't get my 3rd until 10 years later. Are you looking for a backup? What about used? Or do you play on a team, where everyone could chip in for a backup. We did that in high-school. It worked out pretty well.

Lol, no I wouldnt give him the MB STINGER! Its called a PG-1 Pro(or the "Edge, the renamed it, but didnt bother to put the new name on the gun so it still says PG-1 Pro), its like a brusier or VM-68. Heavier versions of spyders...its made outta cast iron lol.

                    ENDO!

Ok i dont get you foo... you have the PRIVILAGE to own a mag.. and you want a better one? You are pressing your luck. I have tried for a year now to get a mag and nothing. You seem to ahev finally fell into this one and want another? To me it IS a PRIVILAGE to own a mag. Its like a gift from god. and you wanna, i dont know how to explain it from my point of veiw.. but maybe you should spend the money on soemthing you really need. Like a car or something. eb SMART around your parents. Get car = transportation to feild = no more asking parents to take you. problem solved.

Car = I am already getting one after I learn how to drive.

I know paintball is a privilage. The only thing is that it is restricted right now... I'm trying to gain more access to the privilage. I know that I have a paintball gun already but what is the point of having it without extra privilages? I'm not looking to buy one at this exact moment but I said I'd like to have one in line so when I'm ready I'll take it.

                          ALSO...

I bet you'd be pretty let down if this was your first gun. I mean, it's a figgin sypder UN-compact! It weighs over 5 lbs and is almost as long as a tippman! It also doesn't even come with bottom line! The threads on the bottom of the grip doesn't even match a normal bottom line setup.

Major... What type of bottom line does this thing use anyways? I see a lot of half drilled holes in the bottom of the grip...

I'm not ungrateful but I'm still saying it sucks... at least my parents don't HATE paintball now...

Footemps, i would be thankful if he GAVE you a gun.

Cast iron.. thats funny. Wasn't the VM bored out steel? :)

You don't need a great gun to do well in paintball, its a good thing to have, but not essencial.

Well, a sucky gun brings down the fun level... Especially when all your friends make jokes about how bad your gun is... I mean, all my friends have high end spyders or better. They're all moving up to 'cockers next month and they're kinda leaving me in the dust....

Maybe look into to trading the gun if you can, like for a stock Spyder or something with a little cash if needed. Then just put a few upgrades on it so your happy with it for when you play the few times you do in the year (as stated above). But if the mag is your thing (and we all know it's everyone's thing ), then just look for a used one, since they go for pretty low prices used.
