It seems like you have a generation gap there. I'm the same age as you except not as high a GPA , but I never had any problems with buying guns, its the $100+ upgrades my parents go crazy about, here's what I'd do; First off:

    1) Call them "markers" it reavaluates the fact that it is a game not war.

    2) NAG - You shouldn't have to ask to buy something just keep nagging 'till they give

    3) LAST RESORT - Let someone shoot the crap out of you then come home and talk about how it wouldn't have happened with a gun with a faster trigger and better range - This can either save you or kill you, use at own risk.

One of my quasi-friend's parents are complete anti-gun / war / retaliation / fun / paintball, so he can't even rent a gun to go. So feel somewhat well off

I'm lookin at a ton of used ones right now. I'm gonna be allowed to play more now that I have the pg1 pro... I just want a gun that will be less hassle and less uncomfortable so I can concentrate on enjoying the game more...

Nagging has worked but I need to nag on intervals so my parents don't get uptight. Getting shot up is fun! It's just funny when the ref yells at someone for overshooting you...

      ALSO...

My parents don't give a rats "donkey" if I call it a marker. Face it, it's a gun! We're just denying it more by calling it a marker!

Like I said the marker takes some weird bottomlines, I tried to make it work with a spyder one, couldnt get the screw to go through all the way but it will work with a spyder bottomline now.

        ENDO!

Do you whine to your friends as much as you do here about you poor poor circumstances. These the same friends who were gonna pool cash for ya and get you a mag, or that fall through now they are going to WGP.
Rather than ragging about what you have you ought to be kissing Majors behind for being generous enough to GIVE you a marker. If you dislkie it so much then be a man and give it back to him. Christ!!!!

Yeah, those were the friends that were pooling and now they're going to wgp. I'd kiss his butt but I don't bend that way... Anyways, he chose to gave it to me... I still need to pay him back for shipping though....

                ALSO...

I don't whine to my friends about it. They just offered to give me one but then gave up because they're lazy.

                I forgot to add this...

Major found it right in his mind to give this to me. He even admitted that it isn't be best gun in the world. He even offered to fix it for me. Does this mean he was lookin for me to kiss his butt? NO!

                PLUS...

I'm not ungrateful... I appreciate that he gave it to me but it doesn't change the truth that it still sucks...

Yeah it is a stupid term, people just originally used it to sell guns to skeptical parents. My dad makes fun of the guy at our field for calling it a marker every time I say "Paintball"

Ya know Foo you say that gun sucks, but if its anything like a VM68, which I still have one by the way, then its the sherman tank of paintball guns.

Yes its heavy, yes its hard to get things for it, yes your friends may snicker, but my VM68 at least is BULLETPROOF. I can drop it in a sand pile, pick it up and it will still rock and roll. Its a gas hog but it never breaks paint, plus I love that its a piece of paintball history. The PMI-3, as I think it was initially called, was one of the grandadies of all semi paintball guns.

I still play with my VM and when I tell people how old it is they cannot believe that it has held up so well.

As a side note, the first full auto gun I ever saw was a VM68. I remember playing with this guy and he said, "I'll cover ya, run for that log bunker over there." Then CLACK, CLACK, CLACK, till the hopper emptied. That thing was LOUD and scary as hell when he would stand on the trigger.

Well I seem to have digressed here FOO, but for God's sack, quit whining, you got a free gun, you can play, which is more than folks in some countries can say, and you have a lot of good folks here to help you with any problems so, 'Whats with the negative waves? Why don't you try thinking positive and righteous for a change.'

Just my opinions, I could be wrong.

One difference... This gun is supposedly new... It is a tank of a gun and a gass hog and everything you said it was but it still isn't a vm68... I know it's a free gun and I know I can play with it... You practically re-stated almost what most people have already said but you kept it in a nice neat package.
I'm not being ungrateful or anything but you have a chance to play with another gun. I doubt you'd want to play with your vm68 every time you play paintball. I might join my friends' team too so I also doubt a vm68 wannabe could compete.
I appreciate what major did for me but its was merely a step to getting me to play more. He even knows that I really wouldn't be happy with this gun for long. All I can say is thank you and keep moving on... It's not like I can do anything more for him.

Actually its not "new", its older than spyders. But it was bought new about a year and a half ago(888 found a bunch of them in the warehouse, and sold them). So it was made a while ago(I think in like 96 or before, I have an old 888 add that shows it) but its been used very little and spent most of its life in 888Paintballs warehouse. Oh, and if you need more parts for it call WDP supposedly they made it...Wow, weird huh!? You can brag to your friends that you have a WDP gun lol

                        ENDO!

lol, you don't need to kiss bum lol

Ive never used it, I think I shot some paint through it and gassed it up...but thats it. I bought it off a team mate who had used it only a little bit, and I then sold it to another teammate after he begged me for it, and he barely used it cuz he wouldn't buy any loctite to fix the leak, then he traded it to me...lol yup. So its probably seen 2 days of play
