Had to add that last line.

im assuming there was supposed to be a roll eyes in there or something, because, if you are claiming to cycle 32 bps, you are on crack, seeing as the old noid was only good to at max 25 cps.

I think this is the most misunderstood info that anyone has said about a new trix, and the most argued. I thought the noid was capped at 24 for the longest time but it was actually the board. I thought it was 24 because in my dm5 manual it mentions it. I remember people arguing over this in the matrix owners forum and one of the admins(hawk I think) cleared it up. If you drop in an aftermarket board or chip you can break the 30s, no that it matters anyway, but it is possible. No one has ever posted a video of it shooting that fast for whatever reasons. When I get my new m7 chip (ramp has uncapped option) I will test this out and let you know. I am still so confused about it.

My understanding was they had capped the board because of the solenoid limitations and did not want it run at those speeds which may result in poor performance / shortened life

I have also heard that. I have also heard rumors of the gun cycling (I am almost positive it was not full cycles) into the 60s when the dm4 was first made. The gun was "said" to cycle into the 40s without issues, but there is all rumor and therefore no proof. I do remember the point of Dye was basically saying no one can shoot over 20, so they capped it at 24. Take it for what its worth, it does not really matter.

With the frame, maybe, but in all reality, you are missing alot on the pm6. also, by the time you pruchase the new frame, and any other anemities you want to run the pm6 like the dm6, you will have spent more than you would have purchasing the dm6 flat out. not to mention, it will still be less efficient, and run at a higher pressure, and not have the self cleaning eyes, nor will they be available for purchase to my knowledge, because of the way they are assembled.
I was under the impression that the proto was more efficient because it ran at a higher pressure. other than the self cleaning eyes, what would you be missing?

Lets just settle this. The DM6 is better because it costs more... thats all.

Am I the only one who saw Empire and I believe another brand name, jerseys that had obvious padding on the chest? I know we (as a paintball community) let Dye start it with the crazy sholder and forearm padding but freakin' chest padding just seems to be a slap in the face of the supposed "no extra padding" rule.

whether or not youre correct on the weight, im not going to bother looking it up...too tired. as for efficency/ pressure difference....how can they be different? theyre the exact same bolt...

self cleaning eyes..from what i heard....i believe it will be a matter of a piece of plastic, and a exacto knife to make ghetto self cleaning eyes.

thats not padding, its creative stitching! you know just fold some material over it self a few times in rows, and stitch it. :)

Let me kow when you get your ghetto eyes done and working properly, I will buy some. I believe dye came up with a slightly different bolt for the 6, and I have read a new solenoid, so maybe with a lot of the little changes they made it could be more efficient

ok the noid= capped at 24. thats the peak performance number. sure you can lower the dwell, and cycle it faster, but there will be consequences in the long run. I spoke to hawk about this at IAO, where he was my roomate.

Btw, you will love THump. Awesome board.

the pm6 has been lowered in opperating pressure to 175-180 where as the dm6 is running about 145.

Does any one play retail any more?

good luck on ghetto self cleaning eyes, id rather have em done right.

I'm liking the idea of the eye covers internally, I think that is a nice improvement.

Nice enough that I'm going to drop my PM5 and buy a DM6? No... but nice idea.

I like the idea of a noid to address the cap of 24BPS

Would I ever use it? No. Do I like the theoretical use of it enough to buy a DM6? No.

Good ideas, the same with efficiecny, I am not going to debate that they are improvements. How much those improvements are worth is a matter of personal opinion, its not worth it to me, but I still don't say there nothing either.
