is paintball a sport?

bowling balls are not different sizes....they have to be a regulation size (diameter)...but there are different weights.

i guess i have a hard time seeing pb players as athletes no matter what lvl they play at.

im a former high school football lineman, im fat ya, but i doubt ant 1 here would personally say it to my face, cuz id pick u up and snap u in half, sure u can run faster than me, but can u run faster than 300 fps?? i think not sir..long live the fat guy!!!

they have to be within certain regulations but Ive seen balls that are not the same size

I picked bowling cuz its not a real sport just like lacrosse, cuz according to some people, if its not nationally known its not a sport

As for the nascar reply, imo, being able to drive around a track for hours isn't a sport. There is some skill needed, but like I mentioned before, the equipment makes the biggest difference.

NASCAR cars are heavily regulated. They bear almost no resemblance to actual production cars, and all the different manufacturers & models still must meet strict guidelines on fuel, engine, horsepower, weight, safety features and aerodynamic shape. All those cars come with 1/2" of the same profile. It is the driver and the pit crew that makes the difference.

This has been discussed many times. The definitive way to determine whether or not it's a sport is to ask yourself, can I partake in this activity without significant risk of spilling my beer? If you attempt to play paintball while drinking a beer, then you will most likely spill it, therefore it's a sport, just like football and hockey. Bowling and golf are games because it's easy to drink beer without spillage while playing, in fact it's almost required. Now before all the golfers start complaining about how golf is a sport because it requires great skill, sorry but you're wrong. No one's saying that all games are easy or that they don't require great skills, but they are still games. The beer rule is infallible. The only exception is synchronized swimming which is neither game nor sport, it falls into it's own lame class which we will call activity. Diving and regular swimming qualify as sports.

i truly belive that paintball is a sport.... but to prove all my friends wrong i need your thoughts... and my friends also belive that a sport is "somthing u cant be fat and be good at".....

yea its a sport. theres tournements, pros, and teams, what makes it not a sport. if ping pong is in the olimpics, then paintball is a sport.

yea its a sport. theres tournements, pros, and teams, what makes it not a sport. if ping pong is in the olimpics, then paintball is a sport.

back from the dead this thread is...... and its been done, its a sport, its on ESPN, and by the dictionary definition "an activity requiring physical exertion and follows a set of rules or guidelines" paintball does that, so its a sport

i think it is, and for the "you cant be fat and good at it" comment, what about football? lineman are fat, and huge and are good at blocking, so your freinds need to shut their mouths because they dont know anything.

he should now know, he is quite possibly more annoying than all of PBN about this subject, he says that linemen dont count because they're "all muscle" and then he says sumo isnt a sport either
