Only gripe was that it wasnt as smooth as i had expected, due to the lighter weight and fatser cycling speed, it had a bit of kick (nothing to complain about, more "feedback" than "kick", but, it was there, definatly more noticable than the featherlight). But, really, i wouldnt mind shooting one at all, real nice marker.
That is odd that you felt that the dm6 was kicking more than a featherlight (viking or excal) It is possible that the user did not have the marker setup correctly, or did not have the marker broken in. Truth of the matter is there is no reason to run the lor at 5 turns unless breaking the marker in, which could be that was happening, but even so, the marker should not be kicking more than a featherlight.

          Review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you can tell by this thread http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.p...6#post18960266 i recieved my dm6 yesterday, and have written the review for all of you. a tutorial will follow this evening or tomorow.

          ***REVIEW***

The Dm6 and its Finer Points.

I have been shooting the matrix and its different incarnations since the summer of 03, dabbeling in other guns, including timmys, angel speeds and vikings, and as you can tell, i came from a mag backround, shooting all of agd's incarnations up until the summer of 03. Im also the captain of team matrixowner.com and i have been tought about the gun from dye certified techs, and the best at mo.com on one on one basies. I feel i am qualified to give a full and impartial review of this marker, and what i truely think about it. I have owned a toxic trix, dm4, dm5, dmc, and now the dm6, baisically the whole product line, and i have shot and had alot of experience with protos.

          INITIAL THOUGHTS.

I removed the packaging as seen in the above photos, and i will say, i am not to keen on the new box design, cool yes, but i appreciated the foam boxes of the past, this doesnt really matter to me, just an observaion. After removing the gun and inspecting it, i am quite impressed. This marker is quite light, and i feel that after the initial inspection, dye has really out done them selves with this marker. The design team will have to work really hard to beat this marker with what im assuming will be the dm7, its light, comfortable, and compact.

My only complaint on the marker out of the box is the thumbscrew for the feedneck. It is made too short, so that the fatter part of the thumb screw comes in contact with the feed collar, causing it to not close as tightly as i would want it to. I have not had tome to fit my reloader b to the marker, therefore i cannot comment on whether or not the feedneck will hold an unsanded reloader b sufficiently. For the time being i have replaced the thumbscrew with the regular allen screw that dye provides in the tool kit. and demoted the thumbscrew to an lpr removal tool.

The first thing i did was traveled out to get air for my marker and gassed it up. I reccomend doing this first, why tinker with something when it may perform just fine out of the box?

          PERFORMANCE

When i gassed up the marker, it was leaking out the back, by placing my thumb over the rear cap of the marker forcing the bolt forewards i was able to determine it was the rear most oring on the bolt stem, swapped the oring, dabbed some dye slick lube on the ring, reinstalled and regassed. No leaks and the marker cycled like a dream.

I set the marker up with my dye throttle, and a 9 volt revvy for two reasons. The first being that my reloader b is at school, and the second being to test the marker in a bit of an extreme envoriment. The same goes for why i have not lubed the marker with dow 33, because it is at school as well.

I shot the marker on semi first, after setting the trigger up to my liking. No bounce and smoothe shooting occoured, a good amount of missed shots occoured because the 9 volt couldnt keep up, but i saw no breaks and no issues. the eyes did their job and did them well. I then removed the hopper cleared the barrel to make sure no paint was in the marker, and proceded to do the tissue test. I placed a tissue over the feedneck to make sure no blow back was occouring, to make sure this wasnt the issue to everyone chopping. it passed with flying colors, and the tissue did not move what so ever.

Next i freeloaded some paint into the feedneck, to make sure no bolt cracking was occouring, no paint broke or traveled back up the feedneck, which leads me to believe that all chopping issues have been related to user error as i origionally thought.

I threw the loader back onto the marker, set the gun on max psp ramp, which would be 30 bps if it was possible to feed that fast. While the maker fired slowly, the eyes kept up just fine, no breaks or chops what so ever. Impressive.

lastly i decided to test out the self cleaning eyes. I punctured a ball and droped it into the breach, shot it and noted that it blew up in the breach. I fired a few clearing shots, and the eyes went back to full and normal function. Id say they work just fine, and i did not notice any paint behind the eye shields after removing the eye covers and eyes to check, but i dont doubt that it can occour in slightly more extreme cases.

Finally to test the new lower opperating pressure, and new lpr, i lowered the lpr to about 2 and 3/4ths turns, where i did not notice any shoot down or velocity change, while it may be there as i do not have a chrono at home, it wasnt noticeable, and not really imperative to this test. Shooting some blue streak from wallmart which bounced 3 times then broke from waist height on concrete, i took a ball, applied some tape, and hung it into the feedneck, turned the eyes off, and let the bolt bounce off the paint. it did not crack the shell until 9 cycles. Pretty good if you ask me, and im sure with a lower dwell, lpr sweet spotting, dow 33 or slick honey, and some Buna nitrile orings in the tophat and beercan that the marker would be even lighter on the paint.

I put the marker back into semi, and finished wasting off the paint(500 rounds). After this i wanted to see what the noid can really do. Put it back into max psp ramp, turned the eyes off, and let it go. I will say this is rediculously fast. Much faster than my dmc with thump on max full auto. The new noid is amazing, and im sure with some tweeking, lowering dwell etc, that the noid will cycle even faster.

I returned the marker to stock settings so that i can break in the lpr and finished off my tank of air.

I brought the marker back in side, took off the tank and loader, and came to write this review. Im highly impressed. the marker performs like a dream and i cannot wait to get it onto the field.

since you said running it on a 9v revvy is extreme conditions, which i dont argue with...what would you call this?

dm4 with a 'shake and bake' hopper and a remote line. lighter then anything iv held, but it was hard snap shooting, pulling the trigger and nothing happening because it didnt feed

You ever seen a Nerve with a Quantum and a co2 tank on a remote? Yeah, I've done that one. I was desperate....:)

Nice gun, awsome review...I'll likely not get one. To expensive for my taste/lifestyle. :)
I'll have to take it out to dinner and a movie first. Will it go see AVP? - Halliday On "Will you date my valve?"

That was the concensus (sp) of everyone who shot both markers. Now, i am running the featherlight at below 60 from the scm, well under what AKA reccomends, which, results in a much smoother marker, with virtually non-existant recoil, has reduced cycle speed, but, that has been the only ill effect, and since i can only play at 15bps (psp mode), that didnt bother me in the least.

that still doesnt make much sense because ram poppet guns inherently have more kick, the only reason i can think that the featherlight was having less kick, was the fact that it is a heavier marker. A dm runs at 75 psi stock, one turn down on the lpr and its at 65, 2 turns(the standard after break in among most users) is 55, most users are reporting 3.5 turns in and the dm6 still functions at peak performance, lower the dwell and you are looking at insane speeds with no kick other than the ball leaving the barrel. Im standing by my initial statement that the user must either a not had the marker setup correctly, or b was still breaking it in.
