    Paintball item scammer on ebay...

Just letting everyone here on AO know that I finally personally found out how bad dealing over Ebay can be. I pretty much got Scammed by Ebay member: jtm_16. I know I am not the only one here on AO that has had problems w/ him. I read the story on the supposed "Devilmag" he had.
    Story:
He was higher bidder on an Emag I put up on Ebay.
He paid for it via paypal, like next day after the auction.
I sent out the marker via USPS on Dec. 27th.
On Jan. 4th he said he got the marker and that if I left feedback for him, he would leave some for me. Shortly after leaving feedback, he filed a Non-receipt paypal claim.
After giving paypal, proof of shipment and his statement, they still decided to grant his claim and send him a refund. Luckily my urge to buy paintball stuff saved me, because I only had $175 in my account when they did the refund. So thats all he got, and my account has been limited for almost a month. I have been dealing with Ebay and paypal over this and hopefully it will get resolved.

However the funny part is, the idiot proved to everyone that he got the marker. He just recently resold the marker Via ebay.
    Marker I sold him:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=7205994279
Marker he resold a few weeks later:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=7214288917

All I have to say to my fellow AO'ers out there, is to be careful over any online transaction. Crappy part about this whole ordeal is it totally crippled my Pneumag project.

He is also likely shill bidding his own auctions. If you go back through his feedback profile, items he has sold have had dozens of bidders, many times by people with little or no feedback, and most have a bid retraction on them too.

The bid retraction is the worst, and as a buyer that is a red flag to avoid the seller. A seller can create a new account and post an absurd bid on his own item, then go back through the bid history to reveal what the next highest bid was. The seller then retracts his own higher bid, then uses another, third bogus account to bid exactly one dollar below the high bid, forcing the winning bidder to their maximum price.

Let me get this straight. You had proof of delivery, and his emails confirming delivery, and paypal still granted his appeal for refund? What kind of crap is that? Then he goes and SELLS the same gun? Man, if you don't get your money back, you should start a class action, because that is 100% BS.

Also, watch how ebay and paypal cleverly bounce you back and forth, claiming the other deals with whatever situation you are in, when in fact, they are both owned by ebay. Classic.

That's how ebay works man. They are a bunch of loser pricks. All of their employees don't give a rat's behind about the customer. Ebay at your own risk. I had my problem with them and now I'm done. They're an entire organization of sleazeballs.

I really don't understand how the hell Paypal works sometimes... I bought what was supposed to be an A4 Fly off of eBay a few months ago, came with a crossfire tank. The title and description for the marker was confusing so I made sure I asked a ton of questions about everything before buying it. The pics supplied showed a Fly and she said it had eyes and looked exactly like the photo, and the tank was supposed to be in perfect working condition. I ended up getting a plain A4 with one of the crossfire tanks that was on recall so it was unusable. Had to eventually file a Paypal claim because she wouldn't take a return. Showed then all of the pictures & correspondence, and finally she issued me a refund before Paypal made a decision. I shipped everything back and we tried to close the claim, 2 days later Paypal sends an email that I lost the claim and that she didn't have to refund me! Thank God it was done already. So in my case the buyer sold something completely different & I couldn't get money back, and in this one you sent exactly what you should have & you get screwed? I'm starting to think that they're run by those monkeys in the Career Builder commercials.

I understand what you mean about the shil bidding and how to do it etc but I disagree with not buying from people who have items with Bid Retractions on there items.
I have had people do that to some of my sales so I simply report them, at least two have been removed from ebay (I am sure not just because of MY report but it must have helped)

The last time it happened the joke was the person bid the base price not over the starting bid and then "claimed" in the bid retraction reasoning that "they had entered the wrong amount".
Some people just like to hold the highest bidder position and then panic when it is getting close to the end of the auction, sometimes there is a genuine reason for the removal, like a child using the parents account. I have bid too much for an item, not too high in as a few extra decimal points but purely too much for what I should have really bid for it...getting outbid sometimes brings a red mist down and all sense goes out of the window, but I have only got stuck with two items at the end of the auction.

Yeah I bought my xmag and when I received it, the board and soleniod were completely fried. I tried to contact the seller multiple times, only to be ignored. I then went to paypal and told them what happened and they refunded me half of what I paid, only two weeks later, I get an email saying that they retracted my claim and deducted the money from my account, which luckily I had just gotten paid so I didnt overdraw.
