Greetings everyone. Been reading the AO forums for a few weeks now, but this (obviously) is my first post. So, let me introduce myself quick, and then I'll move on to my question.
My name is Memnock. Yes, I know that's my InterNick, but I've had it for so long, people actually call me that in the Walking world, and in normal conversation. It's how I'm known on my team, in every game I play, on every message board I'm a part of, and it's also on my jersey. I've been playing paintball for over 15 years, and have been shooting an Automag for the last 7 of those years (The same Automag for all those years - my serial# is 21xxx... Good old AGD). I play for a Minnesota team called Fatal Exception and we are doing our best to promote local interest in both rec and tournament Paintball.
I'd also like to say that, in reading the forums for the last few weeks, I've discovered that you all seem to be a great bunch of people with a lot of valuable information and opinions to share; I'm happy to join you all, and hope I can contribute.
But, before I get to the contributing part... gimme gimme gimme!
I need advice. Here's the situation. I love my mag. A lot. I've never wavered in that, despiste the fact that my entire team shoots 'cockers (Then again, I have more years in paintball than all of the rest of them combined, so what do they know!
). But I'd also like to be able to compete a bit better with the electro markers out there. So, I've picked three, possibly four, upgrade paths. Let's hear your opinions and help me choose between them:
1. I buy the Hyperframe and upgrade to the Retro Valve (remember, my valve is OLD. It may not have exact enough tolerances and my bolt may be eaten alive by the Hyperframe.) That comes to roughly $600.00.
2. Or, do I take that money and pick up a mid-level electo, like one of the nice new Impulses? The downside of which, of course, is that it's not a 'mag, and not made by AGD.
3. Or, do I send in my valve and that money and get an E-mag? (Which, remember, will come back all nice and shiney new, but installed with my valve created in the days before electricity)
4. Or, do you guys have a better idea? Throw out anything. I'm open to other suggestions.
So, that's my dilemma.
I'd also like to get some Trigger frame reviews. Basically looking at the new Intelliframe and the Hyperframe. I don't need them compared to each other, just general reviews. If you've owned one or the other, let me know what you think of them and make some comparisons to what you've used in the past.
Thanks for any replies! It's great to be here, and I look forward to talking with all of you in the future.
Shout out to DJSolid!
See you on the field!
