I also know a dive shop owner that this happened to because he was nice and filled people's compressed air tanks for 3$. So this one kid's tank (wont realease name) exploded from the bottom of the fiber wrapped bottle, because he had dropped it on the ground and not told the dive shop owner. The tank rocketed through the celing ripping the hose off of the larger tank wich the dive shop owner shut off quickly. Luckily no one was hurt, but someone could have been if the tank had not rockeded upwards. He still continues to fill tanks to the day but does not fill fiber wrapped, he calls them "time bombs, once the hydro date is up, they explode". He fills aluminim, lucky for me. But this is a dangerous matter and could be harmful, I am glad that dark wolf brought this up. CONTENTS UNDER PRESSURE ARE DANGEROUS!

        Three things.

Should've checked the date this was posted on PBNation. It's old.

Should've used the search function here. This has been posted a few times.

Don Miguel, if you have nothing to contribute go away.

Stop whining, and go find a better thread to respond to.

Just because a safety thread is stickied doesn't mean it will make the world a better place.
The rules threads are stickied, and I'm willing to bet you and Don Miguel did not read them.

                  Hmmmmm, wonder who that was

After I posted this an industry insurance provider asked me not to make a "big" deal" about it.

DO NOT ! I SAY AGAIN DO NOT!!! ADD DROPS OF OIL OR USE ANY

OIL TO SERVICE YOUR AIR SYSTEMS TO KEEP THE FILL NIPPLE FROM LEAKING. I will report

that 3 times now the fill operator at my old field has had 3 flash explosions.

Ya sure it lies in my hands once I am informed and educated on the matters at hand. Where do I go to get this information and education? PBN, here somewhere else?
Seems the reg manufacturers and the rest have failed to educate on proper safety. In other industries it is clearly MARKED on the reg. NO OIL.

Paintball safety lies in the hands of the players. Do not put oil or any other lubricants into your compressed air system's tank or fill nipple. No lubricants should be used on the regulator unless they are explicitly recommended by the manufacturer.

This is a step down for you

Forth thing. Who cares if its old. You can never educate and talk about safety to much can you? Oh wait this is PaintBall....IADSPBP. What did you contribute?

This is true but it would be a start. As I have been told, you cant child proof the world.

Just because a safety thread is stickied doesn't mean it will make the world a better place.

I spread the knowledge of the mystical search function.

Everyone here is sick of seeing old stuff brought back or people reposting the same stuff. I think I should go start a thread on when the Predator E-mag boards are coming out or if AGD is really going out of business. Search function you say?

While this is an important piece of safety information that the tank manufacters don't put on the tanks, it has already been posted on every paintball related forum. Don Miguel had to then go on about some random (and most likely fake) story that didn't involve oil and a regulator.

                    This thread should be deleted.

I had been out of the sport for almost 12 years and just recently got back in. This is the first I had heard of this issue and I am glad that I got to read it.

The guy found some information reguarding safety that he thought he should let everyone else know about, so he posted it. So what if you already know about it, then DONT POST. MAYBE not everyone in the world saw it the first time around. I've been on this forum for almost 5 years so dont whine to me about reposts. Get a life and leave this guy alone.
