AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.

And they don't even make Dallaras anymore either... Sad days.
I think that body looks kinda tacky. But I guess it is just an aquired taste.
I don't know if anyone thought of this, but if you were a good enough miller with paintball expierience, you could probably make your own slugs.
OMG that's a great idea! Don, you seem technically knowledgeable, why don't you do it? We would love you forever if you made a run of hand made sluggos. Oh I think you could definitely do it.

You know, this guy has a point.
That one guy did it with a dremel, a file, and some taps....
No, he's not. That has been said umpteen times, not to mention they stopped being produced because of tolerance issues.
So maybe you could back off a bit. Theres a cliff right over there...
you missed a far? maybe? just maybe?
Tolerance issues can be overcome with proper tooling. Maybe the slugs were discontinued due to the lack of proper CNC lathes and tooling. The only way you could make this profitable would be turning them on a CNC lathe with rotating tools and milling spindle, so you could practically make a slug in one machine cycle. But those machines cost alot of money and probably isnt worth turning out small series of slugs to a very small market of customers.
Lay off Don. What happened to the helpful days on AO?
The question of whether no one has successfully created a thrid party slug is a good one.
TK and adoring followers on AO seem to attribute it to magic elves employed by AGD's subcontractor.
But the truth is probably just no one who has tried has paid enough attention to setup and QA.
The fully measured and toleranced AutoCad file for the Slug was even released (although subsequently yanked ).
If you were lucky enough to download the original file, you're good to go. Even the sterilized drawing contains enough detail to produce your own.
Some here on AO have creted their own frames, rails, bodies and combinations of frame/rail, body/rail. So it IS possible.
IMO, don't expect to do it for cheaper than AGD though.
I said that if "you" meaning anyone, was a good enough miller then they could probabably make slugs. I do apologize I wasn't trying to be a wisearse. Basically I meant that there are probably some people who could mill slugs, but it might cost more.
