AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Ok, I read thru everything posted up to now, and sorry warbeak, you are wrong. I can reverse engineer a sluggo. It really isnt that hard. A good set of calipers and micrometers and go to it. Anyone that has a small amount of machinery backround, can do it. And he wasnt saying he could do it himself, that a buddy or whatever could. As Sgt Hulka on Stripes would say..."Lighten up Francis"

The problem with making ULE or sluggo's has something to do with the inner ring where the bolt spring hits. Absolute turn had to buy/create tooling to do this.
4-axis milling people may have more insite on this.
"It's my buddies gun"
"I just bought it"
"It came that way"
"I borrowed it "
I HAVE HEARD THEM ALL, SO BE ORIGINAL !!!
My gun says I'm holding it back from doing great things ...

Doh!
Now that you mention it, I do remember talking to Tom about that, I believe your right Kayle, the steel ring is the most complicated part. Didnt PTP (Micro Mag) try to do it without the steel ring, and that it didnt work out?

Are you sure that you aren't talking about IT? I'm pretty sure that they didn't use a steel ring in theirs. I think that was also the reason they didn't work very well.
warbreak...stfu. ever since you made a spydermag, you "suddenly" woke up with knowledge. Show me that you tried to do what Don said, and failed and then we'll believe you, but spouting at the mouth only proves one thing, that you are full of it
I sent my gun to Luke to have the mod done, I've never made a Spydermag before in my life. perhaps you have me confused with someone else.
Paintball Talk is the main forum for Automags.org. Here is where we talk about the sport of paintball in general and make announcements relating to the forum and website.

Not sure about the IT.....
I think early Micro Mags didnt have a steel ring, I had one that had been beaten to the point of not functioning. Maybe the one I had, the ring had been removed before i got it.
Oh lol, that isn't a spydermag. It's my "arachnamag" copycat of Joni's vert frame mod. It didn't work too well so I ditched it and sent my gun into Luke for him to work his magic. The thing shoots fast, but I bent the ULT on/off pin so it won't stop leaking out of there! Oh well, since they don't sell the pins seperate, there's another $30-40 spent. Can't wait to get those Tboard laser eyes too!

Why, I beleive that he is a registerd user here on AO, just like everybody else that posts in these threads. Altho, it does seem that he does not have as high a post count as you, so I guess that means that he should be seen, and not heard. I got an idea, lets make a new rule that anybody with a post count of less than 1000 have no opinion on any topic, they should just agree with the people with the highest post counts in any thread. That should narrow the forum useage down to about 15 people total.
WOW, sigs. Havent seen these in a while here on AO.

Ok good idea. But you're the exception, you make pretty sweet wood grips. Btw, would you ever consider doing a custom pair? I have some plans in the future for like a Navy & Marine Corps theme. Idkn if you do engraving though.
That is one really long sentence. An, I am not a "good guy fan boy". I just think that there are ways that people treat each other. Granted, not everybody can start off with all the knoweledge that is needed. We were all "noobs" at one time or another, even the guys with godly post counts. There are ways of dealing with problems on the forums, but, IMO, its not by treating somebody like they are stupid.

For the record, we don't have ranks on AO, and your opinion is valued just as highly as any. (although on technical matters RR or Coolhand might). I say feel free to post. Maybe you got the wrong idea from those who criticise Don Miguel. It may seem like we don't want "noobs" to post and therefore lower our collective pool of intelligence. That's wrong.
What most people object to about DM, is like you said, the plethora of worthless posts on topics he knows nothing about, just to get his post count higher, and therefore be "respected." Notice his plan isn't working, he's not being respected. He's being defended, but when the criticisms die down, he will find himself alone.(Unless of course, he decides to start acting in a rational manner)
This thread is so far gone. You know, it started as a thread about a custom body? Nothing at all to do with slugs. Then someone mentioned slugs, DM came in with another one of his ideas(people should just start ignoring him...) and it turned into an off-topic flame fest.
Mods, if you are reading this, please close this thread.
you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...
