OK I don't know what that means but.......yeah.Originally posted by SCpoloRickerOnce again, DIAF!
and yes Don it is just a concept, however this is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. is it possible? well for the most part I'm thinking yes. is it practical? I'd have to say...not really, is it cost effective? uh, do I really have to answer?
However I have seen bolts made for other markers made out of Carbon Fiber so I don't quite understand how anyone would claim that it wouldn't satnd up under the stress/friction of the bolt moving when it's applied to the body. (and especially not after those posts by VFX Fenix, which I found to be rather enlightening.)
And lastly exactly why would it have to be a one piece design? why wouldn't the "rib" design work out? it would eliminate the problem with threading, the feedneck would still me Al and the rear of the body would also remain for the necessary length ( what would be neccesary anyway?). while the middle two "parts of the body would be Cf. so perhaps a little bit more of an explanation on that would be a help.Comment

The other CFbolts do not have sear catches and springs, like the mag.Originally posted by gus13However I have seen bolts made for other markers made out of Carbon Fiber so I don't quite understand how anyone would claim that it wouldn't satnd up under the stress/friction of the bolt moving when it's applied to the body. Back when we were making our body kits for AGD guns, there were a few CF hybrid designs we had worked on as well, but never built. I have a few concept rendered models I can post later (not at that computer right now). They were all simple so that there were no threads and no wear/contact areas. CF was/is still too expensive tho.Comment

http://themagsmith.com/Originally posted by gus13so basically I'm hearing there's no lighter aternative to a ULE body as of right now. Cf is too expensive to constitute its production....hmmmmm....... what are the options?
dont forget theyr are lots and lots of other places to save weight.. the rail is a big one, as well as a ULE frame, or cf foregrip, etc etc.
--i am in no way endorsing rogue or tms....
just saying..

already looked there. I already have the ULE body, x-valve/ult, and am saving up my money to buy a cf foregrip, Dallara rail, ultralight pro frame/trigger and a cf stiffi barrel...
..... I just wanted to see if I could somehow lighten it up even MORE than what these items already do or will.(right now I had to steal the rail and Y-grip off my mini until this current project is completed) but thanks for the info anyway!!

Snag a used Alpha Rail and get a Pariah body from Rogue. Lightest combo ever. Oh look at that, I have a used Alpha rail with eye cover slots cut into it. Hehe, just kiddin, I mean if you do want it tho, I'd let it go.Comment
