Do you have a link or something? I'm not quite sure what you mean with soft shelled and pre brass eagle. You are talking about the Viewloader revolution right? -
correct
revies were made by a solo company "Viewloader" they made 2 types of shells originaly. rubber shells (had many many problems since the shells were litteraly rubber and could flex, balls could be shot through the seams). then they also used a mroe normal plastic (now referd to as soft shelled). all 9 volt revies as long as they have original shells are soft shelled, and some of the 12 volt revies have teh soft shells. when brass eagle took over they kept using the same soft shell plastic for a short period of time then switched to the more brittle current plastic they use now.
the soft shells are harder to crack and if you compare them to the newer shells you can feel the diffferance (note the black shells seem to have more give than the transparent soft shells).
they are not to hard to find over on mcarterbrown.com and stockclasspaintball.com (run 15-25 bucks normaly). if you cannot find one the newer "tripod" revies that have the interchangeable tops are made from a similar material but IMHO they seem to feed not as good as the older ones.
i hope this helps some, if anythign is unclear just let me know

Quick question: What barrel comes on the TAC (Length specifically)? I'm ordering all the stuff I'll need, and need to know what length squeegee to get.Comment
-
Fairly sure it's either a 12 or 14 inch. However, I get the longest squeegees I can because you never know if you wanna try out a different barrel, you'll never have to little(i've been there, it sucks), and the squeeges fold up so small that a few more inches doesn't make much of a difference.Comment
