If not a Mag then WHAT?

In the latest mags going extinct thread I was told by several peops that they no longer shoot a mag just like hanging out here. Not hard to understand why people like this forum but I am dieing to know what people have been replacing their mags with? If you have given up your mag (or added other guns to the collection) what have you replaced it with?

I noticed behemoth I think it was recently got a fusion. I have used some guns with a somewhat similar design (blow forward electros like the old dragun "the one"). Any other guns out there that are good quality blow forwards?

        i do not know

as long as i can buy a parts kit here and there i will not switch. i have tried tons of the new guns, rail , mini, ion, not really impressed. they shoot faster than my rt but not as accurate because they do not have the x-valve.

disclaimer. This is what happend with i shot my friends setup with the guns above. yes its s possiblilty that there paint to barrel match wasnt good. i didnt have time to look into that. all i noticed was my gun was more consistant i had more paint on paint shots. so didnt examine their set ups.

I dropped my mags to shoot a Timmy. To shoot a Viking. to shoot anything with a micro switch to activate and operate my marker.

As a whole, how many automags are mech?
            How many are pneumatically assisted?
            How many are Electro?

I moved on because The trigger on the automag didn't allow me to shoot as fast as I wanted to.
It didn't perform up to my standards anymore.

The fact of the matter is that I don't see mags having a viable palce int he Tourney world, where I primarily play and compete.

You're going to tell me that you can slap a hyperframe on a mag. you can slap Emag lowers on an RT-Pro. That costs money. Even if you buy everything used you wont have all of the modes that the general paintball playing populace want. you wont have breakbeam eyes. You're going to say that they can be installed. That costs money. It's custom work. You can put a thousand dollars into the mag, and $400 into an entry level marker that will be lighter, break beam eye'd, and have a wider variety of parts to chose from.
.....And at the end of the day, a lot of us choose to spend less money on a marker that will ultimately outperform an automag. But that's simply my opinion.

I like mags. they're neat markers. They're just not for me anymore.

Disclaimer. No paintball marker is going to more accurate than another just because of your opinion. The Xvalve isn't going to make you hold the marker any different, it isn't going to put a ball downrange better than a Stock ION, or a Dm7.

While I agree and can attest to the quality of mechanical automags, how many spyders do you know of that no longer operate? How many tippmanns? I can't think of a marker I've ever seen that is strictly mechanical that's ever failed to chamber, and propel a ball.

                I dont know of any.

My mag got replaced by a Blazer. I've still got a mag for "Back up" and for tinkering.

I think I may sell it though and get a nice automag though. I'm just not sure yet.

I bought a Viking in addition to my emag, and after awhile of not using the emag, began to part it out. For speedball, I like the feel of the viking alot more, and I like the efficiency. Now I've kinda switched over to pump, but didn't want to go pump-mag because apparently they still don't get the best efficiency, and with little 12g's...(although I heard Jay got one to do 40 shots)
If I ever buy a mech marker though, I think I'll look for a mag. I really like how quiet they are and the whole single tube thing. Not to mention that they're durable as heck.
you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...

Well anyways, bach to the original topic.

I loved my mag. Damn reliable, and damn sexy. I didn't care if it didn;t shoot 5 billion BPS, I sold it because of the air efficiency. I just got tired of having to fill after every game. And if we went out to the mountains, we only had one scuba. I usually ended up sucking down all the air myself out of that.

Im now shooting a PM6 and am very happy

I made a shift to electros and pump Shooting a DC viking and Phantom primarily - depending if we are going pump or semi.

But I still have a mag and when I get done with my pneumatic and electro frames for it, My mag will still only be a backup role. I like the look and the exclusiveness of my mag, but when it comes down to money-time... I'd rather be holding a viking.

/will not loan out mag easily.
