AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Drix,
had a look at the G-Force Pneu-Mag Frame thread lately?
and they have no reason for the delays.
you know,
I would think that someone that does contract work for the military just might not be able to say much about it publicly.
that thought ever blow across the wind mills of your mind?
just telling us that we are waiting because of contract military work just might be saying too much and getting people in trouble.
so be adult about this,
be patient and respectful to those you post about.
you do not have all the information, nor does anyone else here.
and before you go saying something about being paid in full,
some of us paid deposits larger than your full purchase and we are not
complaining.
as for the guy that "put paintball on hold" waiting for this project.
good thing your not counting on better air quality anytime soon.
I mean what would you do then?
Stop breathing till the air was cleaned?
I can't believe you compared PTP to G force. After watching the incredible disaster with the G Force project, I would NEVER do business with anybody that was even mentioned in the same conversation as that project. Also, the "air quality" thing makes absolutely no since.....seriously......and Finally!! My post was not meant to complain about the delay, but I simply stated that it was understandable that people were getting somewhat anxious since this project is WAY past the original delivery time frames and that there was some disappointment that the project was taking so long, having had such excellent dealings with PTP in the past. I think we all should have realized that this is not the "full time" PTP of the past and that this was rather a side project. Me putting paintball on hold, waiting for this project has actually worked out quite well. Instead of hanging on every post here hoping to get my new gun together to use, I've been busy with other things. PTP has given us some nice pics of their progress, and I'm sure will deliver a nice product. But to not expect complaints over delivery time frames is living in fantasy land. I would recommend estimating a new shipping date, atleast to have something to shoot for and continue with the pic updates, etc.
I dont think you guys understand, that most of you guys who are on the "Just chill out" side of things are the ones sort of ranting. All I am saying is I fail to see a reason for not including a new updated approximate shipment date. Even if you don't know when it's going to be done, you'll know when it's not going to be done.
Example of approximate shipment dates that I have used (Adjusted for our purposes.)
1. I'm sorry, but it's not going to be done before December.
2. We're shooting for February 2010
3. If you're lucky it'll be done by November 17th.
None of those examples have tied down a specific date but have given information about when it's not going to be done.
I'm not disputing the process, the other jobs, the creativity, machines breaking down, programmers getting sick, bits breaking, setup, accidents, or any of that other crap. If they want to build a B2 Bomber out of pipe cleaners and salt packets before they finish my marker- fine no problem, but let me know how long roughly it'll be before I can even expect to see some sort of finished product. (Refer back to examples of shimpent dates)
I'd really hate to see another 2 page flame fest, so I'd guess that unless someone can come up with a fantastic reason as to why someone cant at minimum throw a dart at a calander and say "I hope it will be then" then I sudjest we wait paitently to see what PTP has to say.

Cause darts hurt when you miss the board...
If it makes you feel any better I understand and agree with you. But I've also somewhat resigned myself to the end result of: "It'll get here when it gets here." Mostly, the way I can see it, I'm left with the following options:
1) Sit quietly and wait for it to come out
2) Decide it's taken too long and either sell my spot or demand my money back
3) Whine and complain here in strange hopes it may speed things up.
I've done #3, then decided to go with #1 and I still want the body. I don't know that anything I can do or say here will speed things up.
And I've got my mag running currently, I'll just port my stuff over to the new body when it comes in.

I'm not throwing my 2 cents either way as far as the "Wait v.s. Update" argument goes, but I can agree with this statement.
It seems like some of the people who paid for their markers want an estimated date of completion, and when they ask nicely and concisely they end up being the subject of endless rants about impatience and previous posts about grenade launchers and supporting our troops and machine time...
I'm not saying either way that we need a definitive date, just that if somebody asks for one maybe PTP should be giving the answer of "Yes, here it is" or "No and here's why" rather than a bunch of other customers flipping out and abusing eachother over an honest and legitimate question. That's not a slight against PTP in any way, either; I wouldn't be able to find questions in thist 1,750 post thread either seing as 1,650 of the posts from people saying "Shut up and wait" or "You're stupid" or "Grenade launchers".
WOW!! I have been out of town for 5 days (not on vacation!!) and this is what I come home to. I already had a stressful weekend.
UPDATE: Vert Grips- DONE, Breeches - DONE, Front Blocks are being programmed and will start running tomorrow. By Friday Russell will be taking parts to RRFireblade for assembly and testing of the body. He WILL get video of the testing to post. Front blocks will run until completed first the mech micro block, then the e-micro block. ASA's are going to be running out. As long as the testing goes well he will run out the bodies. The programming is all done as you all have seen by video. We did not run them out to ensure when we test them that everything is in it's proper place like for the sear and such.
TIME FRAME: This is what Russell has told me....We have 500 launchers running out on the machine that the bodies need to go on. They should be finished by next week. To finish all parts we are approx. 2 1/2 weeks to complete. Then we will need to give about 2 weeks for beadblast/polish/anno. Parts will then be sent to me to complete the process and ship.
I never ever thought it was going to take this long. Trust me when I say this has been just as frustrating to me as it has been for you. I can only control my part and not the actual machining process. I will update you as I know more info. You can expect at least to see some video of an actual working product by the weekend.
Thanks Tracy, I don't care what every body else think. But I do appreciate what you and the rest a PTP are doing for us Automagers. keep up the good work.

That's great you're still able to get RRF to test out the bodies!
Tracy, I think what would keep frustration down is just to post regular updates (even if there is no change in status). Sit down with a glass of wine on a Saturday afternoon and shoot out a blurb. Think of it as a weekly date. Just keep feeding the bears.

Awesome! I wont start looking around for another 3 weeks or so. Out of curiousity, will those of us who ordered raw bodies be getting them before the anno guys, or will they all ship out together?
