    XMOD BETA Testers ONLY (Questions/Comments)

This thread is for the questions and comments of people who have XMOD and are using it. If you do not have it loaded on your gun please do not post in this thread, send me a email and request the manual I have written it's over 20 pages and will answer every question I have recieved to date.

For anyone who does want to post a question, Read the manual First, then please post your settings and a detailed description of what's happening. Instead of writing out your settings in words, to save time just post them like I did so that myself and everyone else know how to duplicate your situation most easily.

Just wanted to let you know that the FA bug seems to also be affected by the
    # that dwell is set on. When I had the dwell on 13 I had to have the fix set
at 26 since I have raised the dwell to 25 I have been able to lower the fix
to 15. With the eyes on I can lower the fix to zero and do not have the FA
    bug.

I have not fully investigated this, but this was the results I had after one session last weekend. I will get into it further this weekend.

The Eye's part makes sense when looking at the code, but I would have thought that it would be the opposite for the FA bug since the longer the solenoid is pulled the stronger the field is which should mean it takes longer for it to dissipate, but I guess not. I have no Idea why, but I guess that's a good problem to have.

Is there anyone else who can confirm this same behavior either with the eyes or with the dwell?

        Hey Lornecahe

I had the FA bug too. The gun went haywire with the ROF set above 15. I played with the FIX and had it up to 30 before I started getting decent results, so I just swapped the noid wires. The problem went away, but I still am keeping the FIX at 5 to be safe.

Also, anyone who gets this, DO NOT set the ROF up past what Paul tells you.

          STK500 notes

Just wanted to let everyone know that on the Amtel STK500 programer, the polarity of the 9v does not matter. I double checked with Lorne before frying anything, and he said he had the same question when he first put his together. He figured I should post something here to let everyone know.

OK guys, I know we went over this in the other thread but after you flash the software, if it shoots but seems like the menus aren't working REMOVE THE TOURNAMENT LOCK JUMPER. Like I said before I'll put it in the Troubleshooting section of the manual but there's still one problem:
            I can't fix stupid... lol

I put the Xmod on my Etac tonight. It went completely smooth. No FA issues at all. The gun was custom built by Tuna man, and I noticed the noid wires were a little longer than on my Xmag. They were also wired correctly.

                Wired???

Hey thanks Big Evil.... I thought I was way to cool and got the polarity for the AMTEL right the first time I soldered my 9v battery clip to the power cable wires.....lol. And here I was prepared to tell everyone to hook the dashed wire to the positive end.......

my solenoid is wired incorrectly, ie, it goes full auto in release mode, which is why i have the fix at 19. However it shoots fine in semi even with fix set all the way to 0. so i was wondering if there is any point to fixing the wiring or setting the fix to 19 since i only shoot in semi or psp mode?

If it's not broke don't fix it. You are one of the lucky ones. If you don't have any problems set the FIX to 0. If Full auto bugs do occur you know the steps, Increase the FIX and then if necessary switch your solenoid wires.

                      3/12 UPDATE

Ive put an entire scuba fill through my Xmag with the Xmod on it. I know some people have been voicing there opinions on the dwell settings. I have mine on 16 ms, and after firing the gun mercilessly for two days. I am seeing no unusual wear and tear on the bolt or sear.

I did kill two bumpers. Stock up on them. Nothing sucks more than having a day of paintball ruined becuse you dont have spare parts.

Also, obviously, the input pressure will determine how fast the on/off pin resets the sear. Keep the on/off assembly well lubed. The sear would hang up when the tank pressure dipped below 600psi due to a swollen oring in there. A quick swap and it was working like its old self again. I guess thats what happens when your gear sits for 4 months.

The moral of the story, is to make sure you eliminate a normal mechanical problem before you start looking at the settings.

Switch to the older style, blue bumper. Should help it last a bit longer.

Super glue the rt bumper. I havent had a problem with the bumper, since I glued it on. :)

I figured that. What kind of glue did you use?

No particular brand name, but some are better than others.

I just use whatever Super Glue I have on hand. Doing this does make things alot more simple and headache free. :)
