This has nothing to do with right or left hero, this has to do with RIGHT or WRONG. The fact is, the guy was asked to pay back part of his bonus. The fact is the Army made up lies about Pat Tilman (died in a valiant fight with the enemy) and Jessical Lynch (saved in a daring midnight raid at a hospital that just didn't happen). The fact is your either apathetic or ignorant about what may really be going on, but Ill let you tell us that answer. However it is convenient for people like you to blame the LIEburals for everything that is wrong instead of trying to work to fix it. Nice try though, any other awesome words of wisdom?

There is nothing sneaky about this, nothing underhanded, nothing to see here. Getting wounded is a gamble you take in the military, part of those stakes is not being able to continue your service obligation. If you do not fulfill your contract, you lose the benefits.

I would expect to not keep the remainder of a bonus, should I not be able to finish my sevice. You guys seem to want a pro ball player to keep his millions of un-earned money, after he gets hurt and cannot play any more, and has to end his contract.

Don't let your "feeeeelinngs" get in the way of your good sense.

but they are talking about the Enlistment bonus(signing bonus). if a proffesional athlete gets injured and is not able to play again. The bonus is garunteed, not the rest of his contract.

The re-up bonus is tied to our contracts, not just as an incentive. If injured and cannot continue service, the balance of the bonus is returned (not all of it, only that which has not been earned).

I'm not saying I agree with the military policy, but I do fully understand it, and find the up-roar is mostly about ignorance.


BTW, many ball players have lost their bonus's for contract violation.

Hmmm...So they pay you a bonus to sign up for training and a job in harm's way, and if you get harmed they take the bonus away. I understand the contract aspect of it, but not the good sense on either side of it.
