Need help picking out a BIG rifle

Ordered a TC Pro Hunter stainless edition with a 26" 375 H+H barrel. The little gun may be light for such a heavy load but I'm hoping the recoil reduction stock does its job. Have a feeling I might have to have a mercury tube put in to absorb some though, we'll see.

That should be entertainment. Now you can pick lots of calibers.

My father-in-law had a TC (pistol) in 45-70. It was a ride on every shot. However, it only dented 1/2" cold rolled steel while the 17 Remington barrel put a little hole all the way through.

My girlfriend bought a 30/06 this weekend, stainless Ruger M77 with some "pretty" stock on it and a compensator. You want a gun that doesn't kick... like at all. I was pretty amazed.

Screwed up and passed on a used Weatherby 30/06 for $400 - should have bought it for me but already bought my gun quota this month (Glock 10MM + the 375)

If I go bigger its either going to be a .416 Rigby (can simply put a new barrel on the Encore) or a 460 Weatherby. Might go to a .204 Ruger instead though.

Next gun shows not till August, probably going to wait until at least than anyways. Its not like I really need another (and the safe is getting close to full).

Need another safe, and going to seriously consider starting to reload.

Reloading is often like getting a different gun while saving on ammo costs (especially with big guns).

Don't know what system to get, at this point the Hornady progressive machines are looking good

For boxes of 20 of this load and 20 of that load, the single stages are about as convenient and have less setup issues. Everyone that I know with a progressive still has a single stage on the bench. Progressives are best for making lots of the same load with good components. Reusing brass from big rifles takes some checking, trimming, etc and the extra setup on the progressive just about negate the speed advantage on batches less than about 50 (imho).
