X-Men Origins... Steaming pile of cow dung

Has anyone else seen this abortion of a movie yet? Here's the list of BS:

Cyclops had nothing to do with the Weapon X program.

Dead Pool was not some mixture of a bunch of different mutant powers. They screwed up Dead Pool beyond recognition. He ended up looking like Baraka from Mortal Kombat.

Gambit had nothing to do with the Weapon X program and if you're going to put him in the movie, give him a damned New Orleans accent.

    They left out Maverick entirely...

There's other stuff but I just don't even want to think about it right now. My god it was awful. Don't waste your money.

How about the fact that wolverine and sabertooth are not related.

They butchered the story, like every other x-men movie.

Oh yea, forgot that. I almost walked out of the theater when I saw what they did to Deadpool.

I enjoyed it. I watched leaked movie, I have not seen the theatre release.

In the leaked version they are brothers ... cdacda13 so I don't know what you're talking about.

I enjoyed it as I said ....... Untill the end. WEAPON X = GAY.
I thought that was the lamest thing ever.
But I enjoyed the whole movie until then.

Also ... WTF was up with the bullet to the head thing? So the metal heals? Why does he not have a hole there in the future?

And didn't he get shot in X2? I don't remember? But I think he did with a normal bullet...

I don't know anything about x-men .. so I'm not angry about how certain characters were treated. They were all new to me.

Cyclops had nothing to do with weapon x? Didn't weapon X have his beam powers? I'd say he did..

The OP was rehashing all the things that the movie screwed up.
In the comics, wolverine and sabertooth are not brothers. In the movie, they are.

i thought i read a comic where it hinted at sabertooth being logan's father, or not, it's been an insanely long time since ive read the comics plus there are so many spin-offs, few of them able to tie straight into the original.

but then again, none of the movies are really following the comic closely, look at rogue

Yes the movie was quite screwed up, the script writers need to atleast read the comics to atleast not make a steaming pile of the source matieral.

I 'm not sure why the decided on an origin story cause they pretty much covered Wolverines origin in the first 2 x-men films. They would have done better to do a story that takes place after X3 so everything wouldn't have to match up to the x-men films.

true but Bryan Singer who helped write and direct the first 2 films made the films accessible to people who have never read the comic while still saying close enough to keep the comics fans happy. But when he left we got that steaming pile called "X-men the last stand". I really wish he would come back and shoot another x-men3 to show his vision of how the trillogy would have ended. But I know it will never happen.

Okay, so other than the fact that the story and characters are screwed up, how is the movie overall. I mean, I'm by no means a comic book reader, though I really enjoy the movies that have been made. I know that some people take artistic license to the extreme, and for die hard fans, heck, even just casual fans that can be frustrating. My question is this: If I don't read the comic books or care too much how close they keep to the original story, will it be an entertaining couple of hours or should I just wait for the rental? Remember, I thought the other X-Men movies were pretty good.

Yes, I enjoyed it. As I said in a previous post, I don't know WTF is up with the X-Men universe. I enjoyed the movie. A lot of the bad reviews of been from people complaining about stuff not being canon.

Despite not being an X-Men expert, the ending is really gay.
I hate stupid stuff like the ending of this movie. I'd say go and watch the movie, but don't expect to enjoy the ending. It's cheesy IMO.

I don't know who gambit is, I don't know who dead pool who, I don't know who most of the people are ... so I didn't care about any "butchering" of the charaters.

It concerns me the detail that some people know the marvel universe / history to.

Put it this way; if this was the new Star Trek, the interwebs would probably not be working.

Comic fans are a notoriously picky bunch, look at Watchmen. As an adaptation, that was just about the best you could hope for. Fans were still up in arms.

Fox's treatment of the X-Men franchise has been heaps worse than almost anything I have ever seen. If it weren't for:

Thanks, Rothman, you evil douchebag! You managed to make Wolverine lame, which is saying something.
God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.
