How many AOers have something seriouslly wrong with them?

Ug, I've got a degerating disk between L5/S1 currently under chiropractic care to prevent further degeneration. Just recently threw it out and I'm out of paintball for at least the next 3 months. Grr. It will be a life long problem tho. Oh and the back of my S1 never properly fused. not quite sure what that means yet, but it sounds interesting.

Not much here, just a dislocated bone in my left foot. Once in a while it pops out and I have to bend my foot at a funny angle to reseat it. Got it playing paintball.

in my motocross racing days I broke the following:
all the fingers on both hands at the same time.
collarbones numerous times.
upper right thigh.
left tibia, fibia.
both radii, and humerous of the right arm.
left ankle, twice.
nose 3 times. once while wearing a full face helmet. I think it was a Bell Moto 2. Broke the face guard part off and drove it into my nose.

hey I was good, just not indestructable.

two worst injuries that have lasted to this day:

broke and dislocated left elbow to the point where my pinky was touching my left shoulder without rotating my arm. don't try that one at home kiddies. if you do, whoever sees it will puke. My brother and the EMT both heaved when they saw that one.

had a window fall on my right elbow, I got really bad luck with elbows for some reason, and severed the major ulnar nerve in the arm. Can't feel most of my right hand.

the doctor that told me I'd never use my left arm again after the dislocation is dead.

the orthos that worked on me for all the other stuff used to know me by name. fortunately I got married and my wife said to stop that nonsense.

i've got a bum ticker, i have a form of pulmonic stenosis (type of heart mumor/leaking between chambers) that is gonna shave 5-15 years (I don't mind, those are the "old man in diapers" years anyway )

from time to time it causes pretty severe pain in my chest/shoulder area, which roughly work out to by very small heart spasms/attacks. they suck, and hurt like hell, but the docs tell me that they aren't gonna kill me (anytime soon)

I've got a bum knee that will sometime cramp up or completely give out on me, most of the time it just pops. I put it through the dashboard of my car 9 years ago.

wow all these things make me feel like i have nothing wrong with me.
well i have had 3 serious concussion and 3 minor ones in the past 3 years. one of them i was knocked on concious for 30 seconds. now youll see me all the time zoned out for quite a while and i have really bad short term memory loss.

plus i always forget to take my barrel condom off and turn on my powerfeed.

My thyroid never migrated. It's a tissue that is part of your endocrine system, regulates hormones and stuff. When you're a baby, it's on the top of your tongue and it later migrates down your throat. Mine never did, you can see it by looking into my mouth. It's also much larger than normal and blocks most of my air passage, making it a lot harder for me to breathe than normal. Combining this with asthema makes for a fun time. I was unable to do any aerobic activities for most of my life... but I was able to in my teens. Breathing is still a lot of extra work for me at times, but I'm used to it.

The specialist that saw me originally told me that I was the first case he had ever seen that did not have mental retardation. He had just published his book on the subject, and wished he had the chance to put a picture of my thyroid into it... because it's such a rare case.

I was 'supposed' to take my meds for this all the time, because they said if I don't it's possible for me to wake up retarded one day. I haven't taken them in like 5 years... :) but my hormone levels are perfectly normal and the thyroid has reduced in size a bit and has stayed that way. And, to the best of my knowledge, I'm not retarded contrary to popular belief. :)

Hmmm compared to you guys, its nothing. But my shoulders are bad from years of football, wrestling and swimming.
Need surgery badly, but just don't want too do it.
Think all in all I've dislocated my shoulders well over 13 times.

You are right about people underestimating me. They would expect me to play back or something, but are usually suprised when I rush to the 50 on the break and get the flag.

Oh yea and all the bad things to my left leg made it a 1/4 inch shorter...My doctor said I will have back problems latter on.
