Am I getting singled out??

Ok I dont usually post stuff like this, but this has made me really really mad.

Ok first off I have my septum pierced (see pic)

I have had it pierced for about 2 or 3 months. Its a 12 guage retainer but I put a 10 guage ring in it.

Ok here is my problem, my school has called my parents at work saying that I should take it out, for some reason. Ok I get yelled at from my parents (and for the record my parents are totaly cool about piercings, my dad, age 48 has 5 including his neck). I go to school today with out my ring in, and EVERYBODY asked me, "where is your ring at, I really liked it, its cool!" stuff like that (my school has about 300 people in the highschool, so I know everyone their). I tell them my story on why I had to take it out, and they are really ticked off.

This is where I think I am singled out, their are about 10 - 15 girls who have the nostrils pierced ok, some have rings in them, some have studs. They do not have to take them out. I asked all my teachers today, if I have caused a problem in their class, they all said no (if you want to know, I am a straight A student) My parents wont tell me who called, because they know I will go up to them and say something.

So what should I do, its my last year in high school, so I am not about to start any trouble, BUT I believe I have the right to keep my piercings in especially in a public school.........got any ideas

i'm serious. if the school thinks they can make you take that out, you had better start trouble. thats complete bull*EDIT*. first of all i would put it back in. if you get another phone call i would tell that person that they can *EDIT* off and that you can have that thing in your nose, no matter how funky looking it is, whenver you want!

this is what I would like to put into the teacher/teachers mail box (at school), I dont want them to hate piercings, I just want them to understand them, A piercing e-zine has produced this into shirts, which I plan on getting atleast one:

Take it to your counselor, or assist. Principal. Tell them that an unfair double standard exists. The rules must be all or nothing. Keep it civil, adult, and above board. If you rebel and get nasty/stupid/immature, nobody wins.

at my school for guys and girls alike you can only have earings in your ears and nbo more than 3 this is for guys and girls... i think its fair cause more thanb 3 in a ear and other things pierced can be distracting if your looking at the persin on awe or jealousy or like they are a freak or whatever but in this case what the schoo is trying to do is wrong! and you better fight it! but do it in a mature way

this story reminds me of what a teacher told me today about the shirt i wore yesterday. my shirt said "pack your car,pick a girl,pitch a tent" now whats son wr9ng about that? antways the teacher told me that i best not wear the shirt to school again... no other teacher told me that and why did he wait till the day after? i wore the same shirt to school last year whats wrong with it now? and for the record my school is VERY leniant aboyut the dress code we dont have to follow half of what the oither schools do

if you really want to know, I have had no problem getting a job, I have 2 jobs right now. When I go for an interview, I put the cleanest looking jewlery in my ears, take my cartledge out, and i flip my retainer in my nose up, so u cant see it, I also ask if my piercings are exceptable, dont be narrow minded man!

yeah i will try that, except the assist. principal is a complete idiot, she used to be a drill instructor (yes I am for realy) and cant stand earrings in a girls ear, I will go to my counselor and tell her whats up. thanks Army

being called narrow minded is minor compared to being told you will not amount to much in life due to a piercing.
No wonder youth resent most adults, from idiotic responses like that. smilies or no smilies that was uncalled for and you should apologize to that young man.
