i agree completely, if i paint a landscape, its fine art. but the moment that you are told the painting was done soley for use as a design on t-shirts it becomes tainted, devalued, by many. i strongly disagree with that, the skill and effort that go into a piece (in my mind) are what truely develop its value.

The thing is, if you were doing the landscape, with no input or guidelines from a commisioner...and then they came to you and asked to put it on a t-shirt, it WOULD still be art (in my oppinion) because it was an expression of YOUR feeling, not others.

I would define fine art as a visual/tangible expression of your emotions. (note: not all art is good.)

I paint with oil, arcylic, watercolor and airbrush, I also draw charcoal and pastel, I sculpt in water base clay and oil base, I wood burn, I am beginning to engrave on metal projects.

I also make web pages, dabble in photoshop, bryce, raydream, and poser.

Currently I resumed my status as gripgurl, however only to do the quick projects since I am a stay at home mom.

I love art and making anything with my hands. It is the only time I find myself totally submersed in something and relaxing.

I think the next thing we should do is put up images of our art. How large can the images be?

since i can't paint or draw to save my life (give me a mouse and i come alive, who knew //shrugs// ), you get a piece of corporate stuff

Nice Kai. Here is a piece I did in grad school. I made 100 chalkboards and placed them around the town. I collected the ones that I could find, and displayed whatever people had writte, drawn, painted, and sculpted on them.

I drew this with colored pencils and then scanned it in MSpaint. I used paint to mess with it before I got photoshop(did this like 2 years ago).

Okay I have a few,

This first one I painted in 1989 when I was 15 years old, I can believe I still have the original painting still intact.

The next three are of the same painting just different pics of it. I painted this one 4 years ago, for the company I used to work for, we entered it in a t shirt designing contest for the American Heart Association. I love Norman Rockwell and I love to recreate his paintings. Someday when I have the time I plan to paint a bunch of his paintings for my home.

This one I painted 4 years agao for my husband it was my first aribrushed painting. To this day I have no idea where it went, he claims it is at work but I have never seen it.

Whew I hit 300 posts!!!
This is the last one. This is a pen and ink that I drew 11 years ago for Halloween Party Invitations my roommates and I were making. It took me a month to finish it. I still have this original also.
