i dont hate em, i find em amusing.
its funny to see guys dump tons of cash on the automotive equivalent of ANS parts to make a 4door accord dx have a big muffler, spoiler, japanese stickers and an air filter then grease pencil 4/5 on the window so they can do a 20 second 1/4 mile.
the best is when they are next to you at a light revving and i proceed to blow their doors in with my dodge grand caravan sport minivan.

ricers are the people who take import cars, mainly from japan (rice rockets), and pimp them out. spoilers, anodized aluminum engine parts, tuned exhaust, etc. if you've ever seen the fast and the furious, that was a ricer movie : ) i personally don't hate em, i just think they're funny..

            was he double clutching?

I don't understand when people double clutch their trannies when they have perfectly working sychros...

            Oh well.

My definition of a ricer is someone who puts all exterior accessories, like wings and stickers and such, then thinks their car is the best thing on the planet and can eat up mustangs and firebirds left and right.

To me, someone with a fast import isn't a ricer, because they could actually make the thing fast, which is very difficult to do with small displacement engines.

The only time i'll actually get peeved is when someone thinks their car can rip apart a sports car, and you can tell that they don't know the first thing about mechanics.

rhetor i agree with that. it doesnt take stickers to make your car fast. i little tweaking and some good ol fashion engine work is the key. well and the seq. trany and f pcon pro v computer and t-51 turbine.

im gunna agree with sam on this, its not the people who like jap cars, its people who put cosmetic things on it or blow tens of thousands of dollars on thier car to make it fast than car X when the could have bought car X for 1/2 of what the ended up paying for thier car.

ether way any monkey can punch the gas. then it simply comes down to whos got the most $$$.

I really don't have anything against anyone who upgrades the outside of their car, useless or not. I mean, if you are gonna own a car, might as well own a pretty one. But I myself, wouldn't do that. I would rather have a 71 Boss Mustang and "rice" out the inside(stereo, neon, digital stuff, etc)

imo ricers are cars that were built up to race and 'look good' (the things are horrendous!) but infact were made to get from pount A to B like any other cars their size (engine, performance wise) safely, cars that are just for transportation nothing special. its when these cheaper (not cheaper in all cases) cars are 'souped' up with countless modifications a bad paint job and countless ugly cosmetic addiotion which make them the infamous ricer car

OH god...after I read this post today I was out at the mall when I parked next to a car that was the *PINNACLE* Ricer!

It was a Honda Accord, big exhaust tip and Performance enhancing stickers...even the coveted Honda Accord Type-R sticker.
But the most ricer thing about it was his FAKE CROSS-DRILLED ROTORS! Inside his rims were aluminum disks with holes drilled in them....in front of and covering his real brake rotors. I was speechless....

I shoulda took a picture of it and sent it to http://www.riceboypage.com/ .

If i was an Import Enthusiast...i would be more pissed off about these guys, than Domestic drivers.

                              FooTemps' definition of ricer:

A ricer is an Japanese import car that was upgraded in purely cosmetic factors to make the car LOOK fast. It may have engine modifications but if the car has a 2 foot, triple deck spoiler, and some carbon fibuz bomb black widow hyper samurai body kit it's a ricer. I mean, a civic wasn't made to be a sports compact. Cars like the subaru imprezza and mitsubishi lancer evo were meant to be compact sports cars. If a car had the intention of going fast in its design then you could probably deck it out with everything needed and not be called a ricer. All those non sporty cars trying to be sporty are ricers.

                              .
