I can't believe I am reading this. All of you who are arguing for it will be the ones sueing the Marijuana Companies because it gave you cancer. It's just like cigarettes, I feel that smokers should not be allowed to sue, but they do. Pot smokers would be the next wave of cancer lawsuits waiting to happen.

I make in that range as well, but I do it sober and straight. I also did it fast (only 31 years old)!

Drugs are bad for you, whether it is beer, cigarrettes, or pot. You can't ban them all because there is too much money involved, but why bring a new one in? You don't think the cigarrette companies would want this? Who better to run production of pot right away? Who has the machinery to make the cigarrette joints? That's right, the tobacco companies.

To bogart is to keep it to yourself. In the pot smoking culture "don't bogart that joint" is a common saying, and even song lyrics.... it means to pass it along and share it with everyone else.

I dont smoke to relax or to get through a day ... actually I play Rainbow Six 3 or Paintball to relax LOL and have the company of my wife and kids to get through my day

I smoke because I like it .. and I know that sounds weird, but the feeling is nice. Yes I can replicate that feeling doing other activities and many times do ... but there are times when you want to achieve the "end" through a different "means".

For example ... your thristy and want a drink. You know water is better for but you only have Mountain Dew to drink. The end effect is still reached, your not thirsty anymore, you just went at it by a different means. This is the same thing.

I dont need to smoke, any time I travel with work I dont. I dont miss it, I dont feel a need to have it, and I sure dont "make up" for not having it when I get back.

Its simply a thing I do ... not something that does me, as many of the TV ads would like the general populace to believe.

It is unfortunate that one bad apple ruins the bunch ... I do admit there are to many people who dont keep it at home and think they can do anything 1/2 as good as when "normal". Its for that reason I treat smoking as I treat drinking at any party at my house. You drink you stay till sober ... you smoke you stay till sober period, even if it means overnight (Hey I maybe 27 but I still like sleepovers). You dont like that rule then either you dont drink/smoke or you dont come to my house for a party.

i forget who said it but someone was saying they smoke weed and are still successful. well bill gates dropped out of highschool and is a billionaire. that doesnt mean that all drop outs are successfull though. the only reason that some people think most people who smoke weed can be successful is because its usually only successful people who you hear about from your friends or on the news. if you look at the amount of low income pot smokers vs high income pot smokers i'm sure the high income (6+ figures) make up less then 5-10% of pot smokers. its just like highschool drop outs, you sometimes here about a celebrity who dropped out but you never hear about the thousands of other unsuccessful people who do.

No, he went to highschool and got into Harvard. As 'Microsoft' took off, he THEN dropped out of HARVARD.

You do realize the top 5-10% of America doesn't make 6 figures?

The top 10% of households here make $90,000 a year (Husband/Wife COMBINED)

marijuana may have contributed to this persons death, but it did not cause it.

if marijuana were just legal for medicinal purposes that would be great. it was, but once again, the government is owned, so it isnt. marijuana can extend the lives of people with terminal illnesses, so why not make medical legal?

I wonder if anything would happen if someone reported this thread to the ATF? Not that I plan to, but the self implications here are much wider than I would have expected.

Other than that I don't have much basis for any statement, as I have never smoked pot, no been in the direct precence of pot. (well except for that one Pink Floyd concert, but that's it's own story).

Everyone has an ultierior motive, and you can never please everybody. It's just the way things are.
