When you guys say Premium...what Octane rating is it at? Here in cali its 91 octane.

i think i payed $1.73 for premium last time I pumped...and that was one of the cheaper gas stations i found in my area..

Here's a good question. Anyone use premium in their non-highperformance car? I use the lowest grade in my Ford X.

California gas sucks.. expensive, and only 91 octane at tops. (~1.80)

You do realize in europe they pay about 5.00 a gallon....

$1.49 here (NH). If I can spend $20 a week on gas for my car, I am not concerned. But then we have my Wife's car too (but she gets much better mileage than I do).

Vehicle gas prices are not an issue for us yet. We worry more about heating oil.

I dont really know how to feel about vechicles and gas prices anymore.

I used to always tell myself and everyone else to buy american cause it was good for the economy but american cars are not very economic.(meaning the higher end trucks/suvs/cars - mostly V-8's)(i.e. my 318 5.2L V-8 Durango)

Recently I've been thinking, maybe getting a car that gets awesome gas mileage would be the more patriotic thing to do...

I know we DO make economic cars but I can't really bring myself to like them. My next choice in a new car/truck will be a tuff one.

I was going to say: ETHANOL RULES!

At least here (iowa) its cheaper and is a higher octane. It also burns cleaner and supports farmers.

The blend that most gas stations use is like a 10% or 15%, but I think that some State vehicles run on a much higher percentage.

I know this is a little off, but I own a 92 mustang GT and it's getting a reasonable 21 miles per gallon. Which isn't bad for a 5l v-8

Also, something you wouldn't even expect,My Jeep cherokee gets 19-20 miles per gallon and it has a 4l 6 banger with 4 wheel drive. Now I know that GOOD gas milage is in the 50 mpg range, but I don't know too many forein manufacturers that can get THAT torgue and HP rating for the same MPG especially for the price of a jeep cherokee. Who knows, I may be wrong but either way, I'm content

I can't wait for a fuel cell car. I've always wanted an electric, but the fuel cell makes more scence. BTW Premium in New York is about $1.90. Still cheap compared to most of the world. Home oil is about the same, which sucks since it was $.99 a gallon when we first bought our place 3 years ago.

That's to discourage too many people from driving. They value their environment more than we do, so they figure if we make the prices stupid high, less drivers=less pollution.
