The Turkish military on Saturday denied reports that 1,000 of its commandos had crossed into northern Iraq. On Friday a military official had said soldiers in armored personnel carriers rolled into northeastern Iraq near where the borders of Turkey, Iraq and Iran converge.

But on Saturday that was denied, and Pentagon officials said they saw no sign of a Turkish incursion.

Are you talking about the one I posted previously? I watched that live. Three tanks rolled in to cover the marines. They responded with 50 cal MG's and a few shots with the main cannon. There were about 120 Iraqi soldiers in some buildings. An air strike was also called in which dropped in maybe 2 bombs. The tanks were also taking small arms fire from the buildings and you can hear plinking sounds as the rounds hit the armor. I would have watched more but it was already getting 1am PST. I was watching it for two hours and two Iraqi officials came on the air, around 12:30am, saying their usual propoganda.

ya but i didnt see the tank parts but the news guy ask's the marine who the gutys down there are and he says friendlys, thats all i know.

I found that reporters question to be funny! I was also waiting for the Iraqi soldiers to come out with a white flag when the Iraqi Info Manager was talking on the air. The tanks first fired on a burm near the building then moved on to the buildings. I watched it for 2 hours before going to sleep. For the entire engagement British soldiers and US Marines were laying down in the high noon sun and heat never moving from their spot.

I just read that the State Dept. reportedly has released info that Russian Technicians were in Baghdad as recently as last week, helping Irac with jamming gear, night vision gear and anti-tank missles they have been providing Irac with.

I believe the jamming gear in question, is for jamming the GPS signal.

Around 11am Iraqi time, supposedly Saddam is to give a live speech. I'll be watching it to see any details.

They didn't think it was live or recent. No mention of the prisoners, or anything specific to recent events.

No injuries noticeable either, kinda odd, since they supposedly pulled him from the rubble of a building the other day.

I just watched his speech and am sckeptical. It looks taped, he did not metion any specific battles, and there is no indications of live broadcast like a newspaper with the current date. He was not wearing glasses as last time and was reading from notes. He did mention Umm Qasr, but did not mention about the skirmish the day before. Voice and video anlysts will be analyzing his speech for inconsistancies and to make sure if it is him or not. Overall, it may be him but taped days in advance.
