    From America...

Martin Savidge of CNN, embedded with the 1st Marine Battalion, was talking with 4 young marines near his foxhole this morning live on CNN. He had been telling the story of how well the marines had been looking out for and taking care of him since the war started. He went on to tell about the many hardships the marines had endured since the war began and how they all look after one another. He turned to the four and said he had cleared it with their commanders and they could use his video phone to call home.

The 19 year old marine next to him asked Martin if he would allow his platoon sergeant to use his call to call his pregnant wife back home whom he had not been able to talk to in three months.

A stunned Savidge who was visibly moved by the request shook his head and the young marine ran off to get the sergeant.

Savidge recovered after a few seconds and turned back to the three young marines still sitting with him and asked which one of them would like to call home first, the marine closest to him responded with out a moments hesitation " Sir, if is all the same to you we would like to call the parents of a buddy of ours, Lance Cpl Brian Buesing of Cedar Key, Florida who was killed on 3-23-03 near Nasiriya to see how they are doing".

At that Martin Savidge totally broke down and was unable to speak. All he could get out before signing off was "Where do they get young men like this?"

One of the commentators finally responded "America"

This came from a friend who lives in Northern Virginia (NoVa) and
    works in D.C. It's absolutely beautiful;

To nobody's surprise there were protesters today in DC, they attempted to disrupt the metro system and block the Key Bridge, a leading artery into DC from Northern Virginia. I got hosed twice because I come in from NoVA on the metro and it is raining hard which makes traffic worse any way. My commute was long and arduous and only caused further resentment for protesters (but that isn't the point of this thread). Anyway, I'll get to the point.

I got off the train in Rosslyn because I had to use the bathroom and the train was moving quite slowly. When I was getting back on the train, there were protesters on the train platform handing out pamphlets on the
evils of America. I politely declined to take one. An elderly woman was behind me getting off the escalator and a young (20ish) female protester offered her a pamphlet, which she politely declined. The young protester put
her hand on the old woman's shoulder as a gesture of friendship and in a very soft voice said, "Ma'am, don't you care about the children of Iraq?"

The old woman looked up at her and said, "Honey, my first husband died in France during World War II so you could have the right to stand here and bad mouth your country. And if you touch me again, I'll stick this umbrella up your *** and open it."

I'm glad to report that loud applause broke out among the onlookers and the young protester was at a total loss for words.

A lot of people gave thier lives so we could have the freedom to protest. Only thing "un-American" here is your statement. Why dont you spit on the flag while you are at it.

                    Great post Army!

I love it! That is great!

The protestors have a right to legally protest. However, when they step accross that legal line, by blocking roads, etc.. then Mango's approach is fine with me. During a time of war and potential terrorism at home, heck even normal accidents, these morons blocking traffic could cost someone their life. If the police are tied up arresting these morons, then they can't be out there doing their jobs protecting the rest of us. If the Firemen are tied up cutting these morons apart, then they might not be there when a fire breaks out. With traffic snarled, how can that ambulance reach that heart attack victim?

Protest all you want, it is your right. I can ignore or boo you, that is my right. However, don't break the law while doing it, or we will set Mango loose on you and smile while he gives you a wood shampoo!

I can truthfully say that I hope they never let anyone with your mentality become a cop sprayingmango. If they do, this country is going to hell and quick like.

I do not agree with protesting, but they have the right to do so as long as they are doing it legally.

Too late, he IS a Cop, and hooray for more like him too.

"...I can't wait to hose them all down with OC and smack them with my baton when they resist!"

If you bothered to read his post (but we already know you don't read/see/hear/watch what you perceive as not in total agreement with yourself), you will see that he said WHEN THEY RESIST. To resist an officer of the law, is violating the Constitutional caveat of PEACEABLE assembly.

You don't have a RIGHT to protest, you have the PRIVILEDGE to protest, but only within those guidelines that keep order within society. Step out of bounds, violate somebody elses RIGHT to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and our brave men who deal with criminal activity must, and will, step in to restore that order.

Bless you Mango. I will sleep easier knowing men like you are willing to place their lives between criminals and my family.

If you read you will see I said as long as they are within the law.

For him to do what he said is a gross misuse of power. You have the RIGHT to protest as long as you do it legally.

I tihnk when you protest something like a war saying "evils of America" and stuff like that you are commiting an act of traitorism. Traitors get shot but that probably wouldn't go over well, so jsut go arrest them all mango.

Ugg someday ill be president and ill put a stop to all the stupidness in the world.

Edit: O ya and if you dont like liveing here get out. No one makes them live here they should all go to an island where i cant hear about them.
