Look at the whole picture. No mask, no MOPP over shirt, no MOPP booties (neither old leggings nor rubber booties), and obviously no rubber gloves. (granted, not alot of other equipment either, but your mask and rifle are ALWAYS with you.)

Ed: center troop, pant seam between water bottle and leg. Left troop, large seam parallel with rifle. Looks like zipper tracks to me. I cut off the black tabs on mine, too messy after walking in the mud to grab that silly thing.

Sam; yes, a country known for it's dust/sand storms, however, it rained pretty good after that big one a couple weeks ago. The Marines are in the Tigris River Valley, where, I think, the dust storms didn't affect movement nearly as much as they did in the Euphrates.

it was just our sop in ft. drum, and gortex was only used for cold weather training in which you didnt even wear a unifor it was your skivies, polypros, and gortex outer layers but whenevrr we wore gortex pants we had to wear rockies(this is upstate ny mind you)
and those are marines so they could be ballet/sumo wrestling pants for all i know

yeah, today we use the gortex for wet weather it seems, although you can use em in the cold too, but we wear them in rain and stuff all the time.

mk19s are one of the funest things ive ever fired!!!!
