I don't want to get into this thread, only pointing out that Top Speed does not mean that was the top speed reached in the 1/4 mile. They are only listing stats, not that it was reached in the 1/4 mile. That is why it is listed 0-60, THEN 1/4 mile, THEN top speed. It is a progression of times and speeds.

since you brought up the fact that a z28 was faster ive decided to throw out this

The camero z28 was beaten in the 1/4 mile by none other than a minivan, i believe it was a 2k1 plymouth voyager,

magsandguitars-do this right buy a truck, an s-10 with a 400ci small block will kill ne of these in a quater mile, and its cheaper for insurance and car payments

I think this may be the minivan you were thinking of, though very fast, its not a 2K1 plymouth voyager....this is why I don't race minivans.

Ahhh....but the WRX STi and the WRX are two VERY different cars, and you said "WRX" which lacks the additional 73HP of the STi.

get an s-10 and drop in a small block, lower it, and a little bit of other suspension mods and it will rule most cameros and wrxs, its still cheaper and better imo

yes, and it had been stated as just camaro, not z28, and then that was brought up. i figure if we are bringing up higher trim lines, then the STi would get mentioned.

straight base camaro with v-8(not ls1) would get hammered by the wrx.

Trench you're a moron if you think buicks and vipers have the same ratio of wreckage. Even with all the half blind old people driving, that is just silly. It may be close, just as statistically the porsche 911 is the safest car on the road (cuz their drivers actually know how to drive). I was reading a round-up in the Boston Globe a couple years back. I believe it was some race track up in New Hampshire invited all of the car journalists in the area to come up to a spring start-off car driving bonanza. Let me tell you something...Writers and Testers for car driving enthusiast magazines don't total buicks while taking them out for a test drive, do i have to say more?
(wait...that was unclear and i can't write, the writer totalled the vette and was lucky to walk away from the crash, there we go )
