The Hulk vs. Superman who would be the victor???

I was just going to make the Doomsday arguement.

Doomsday was very much like Hulk. Couldn't fly, but he could jump real far. He was just an insanely strong superhero-beater.

And Superman just went into a slugging match with him.

Getting into a slugging match with the Hulk is insanity. You hit him, he gets stronger. You kick him, he gets stronger. You blast him with eye lasers, he gets stronger. The more you hit him, the more you help him.

Superman CAN be defeated by physical force alone, as proved by Doomsday. If you hit him hard enough, he DOES get hurt. And I would argue that the Hulk is easily stronger than Doomsday.

How would superman carry the Hulk into space? It's not like the Hulk is just gonna let himself be carried. It'd be kinda hard to fly when you are being crushed to death with enough pressure to turn coal into diamonds.

Superman could fly RIGHT THROUGH the Hulks stomach, and the Hulk would just heal back up. I remember one Hulk comic where the Hulk's stomach got ripped out, and he used his hand to try to hold his guts in. The next thing the Hulk knew, he had healed around his hand, and he had to rip his stomach out AGAIN to get his hand free. Anyone who can easily survive getting him stomach torn out twice in a row has one hell of a healing factor. Wolverine ain't got nothing on that.

Even in the Marvel vs. DC crossover comic book Superman realized he COULD NOT WIN. All you people saying Superman could win, YOUR BOY HIMSELF realized that there was NO CHANCE IN HELL. Superman just doesn't have the endurance. He isn't used to fighting people who can hurt him. All he is used to doing is deflecting bullets to save Lois and Jimmy. He's like a glorified Lassie.

Once you see "The Hulk" you will know right away that The Hulk could beat any superhero or villian, right away.....

A person said Superman would just fly around until The Hulk turns back into a regular guy. I doubt this because the Hulk would be so pissed off that he can't catch him that it would only make him stronger. So basically Superman would just fly around forever

But undoubtedly the coolest super-hero there is...Wolverine. Minus the yellow spandex phase, he is just the bad *** of Marvel. Claws, healing powers, an attitude, nothing beats it. Oh and on DC's side I would have to go for Lobo

Well, I gotta step into this one since Superman is my M.O. and all. First of all, in reading this thread it seems the consensus is "Oh, Superman is strong and all but he's not that strong." Uh, riiight. He's not as strong as the Hulk in a weight lifting contest, but he's plenty strong enough...easily more than most super heroes ever have been. That, and Superman has so many other abilities that would greatly overshadow the Hulk's. I think the Doomsday scenario they set up with Superman was kinda stupid because he would be smart enough to know not to just slug it out with a guy like that. A fight with the Hulk would be no different...once he saw that direct physical action was only empowering his adversary, he'd find a new way to fight him.

I'm sorry, but I never really bought into the Hulk as a cool super hero. I liked his overwhelming strength because that's one of my favorite attributes, and his healing factor is amazing, but he's dumb as a stick. For all you guys stating "It depends on which Hulk" or whatever, I'm talking about the original styled Hulk...the super strong brute. He doesn't have the amazing other abilites Superman possesses, nor does he have the vast intellect of Kal-el either. If you really want to get right down to it, Superman could fly around the world fast enough to turn back time before Bruce Banner changed into the Hulk, and then fry a hole in Bruce's head with his heat vision. Game over, Hulk OWNED. Period.

Because he has so many super powers and so few weaknesses, Superman is the epitome of the super hero. Everyone else is in the rearview mirror in terms of power. Hulk is cool in his own right, but unless we're talking sheer strength and regeneration, the Hulk and Superman are in two completely different categories.

As to shartley's comment about Superman not being very interesting because he's too powerful, there's something good about that too. Character's with weaknesses and shortcomings are quite interesting as well, but there is also something interesting about the absolute power and ability most of us would love to strive toward. That's what really got me interested in the character. In high school, I loved the Punisher more than any other comic character (and still do), but Superman became my favorite later on because he can do anything. He has very few boundaries, he's invicible for the most part, and he always saves the day. :)



Oh, and the Superman vs. Muhammed Ali thing was just plain dumb. Maybe we could get a Hulk vs. Hulk Hogan comic while were at it...

If i remember right prof. x and hulk got into or atleast according to the sites ive been to and still have yet to see the hulk "loose" a battle so im still going to have to say that there still isnt a force that could just completely own him yea supes beat him but he did it in a pansy way i mean come on how many peeps could actually get into a one on one throw down and win???

Prof. X couldnt beat the Hulk. The Hulk is immune to mind control because he has so many different personalities that offer too much resistance.

dre it does matter on which Hulk. If he is in Professor form with Banner's brain and Savage Hulk's power hes pretty much invincible. In that form he has no limit to his powers, can jump 3 miles, or jump into space. After falling down he has caused earthquakes and giant craters.

Betty, his girl, isnt really a weakness. She dies in one of the comics remember? But Hulk is still just as strong.Hes invincible for petes sake!

I'll agree that Superman is smarter than Green Hulk but he's by no means super inteligent. From all that I've read he's no smarter than the average man really. He relies soley on his physical super abilities to get him through mostly.

Batman on the other hand IS super inteligent. That's why he's in the JLA. That's what puts him on the same level as the other supers. This is why he's called "The Detective." He has beaten Superman on more than one occasion, granted with Kryptonite, but also by out smarting him and out planning. Heck he knows how to defeat all of the JSA just in case. Most importantly he's got more of a drive to get things done than any other super hero in the DC universe.

^^^ Ya Batman's smart but Bruce Banners smarter. The Proffessor incarnation of Hulk, has Banners brain with Savage Hulk's abilities. How can you top that? Or when he becomes Guilt Hulk hes pretty much invinvibile.
