Superman and Hulk. Both very strong (100+ ton Class) but Hulk IS stronger(yes coming from the Superman Lover)

Superman IS NOT invincible or even close to being a "GOD" he's strength comes from his proximity to our sun. The closer he is, the stronger he is(because he recharges faster). The Sun Charges him, if he flies too fast for too long or fights someone who could take his hits (i.e. hulk, doomsday, juggernaut(sp?)) then he doesnt really get tired, but his strength quickly fades to the point where he could get his butt whooped by a regular Joe if he doesnt have time to let the sun recharge him. If he's on earth and has used most of his charge, it could take him hours to fully charge. If he were on the sun he would be invincible.
However, he CAN NOT be in space any longer than he can hold his breathe(he can actually hold his breathe for well over 5min. since while he's charged his actions are near effortless therefore hardly use the oxyegen in his blood.)
When his Clothes rip, he's really starting to lose his charge(his clothes are earth made but his aura when he's charged makes a "shield" around his body protecting his clothes and things in his pockets, etc. the better the charge, the bigger the shield)
You can argue that he can wait till the Hulk turns back into Bruce but then he wouldnt be fighting the Hulk would he.
Also, the hulk can not jump past the lower atmosphere,(someone said he jumps into space, lol) how would he fall back down?!)
Superman is far smarter than bruce, batman, or anyone else on earth. If he used his superspeed, he could fly faster than the speed of light grabbing hulk flying into space killing hulk(so fast hulk's brain wouldnt process things till it was too late).
If hulk did get to punch Superman even once - he would definitly then have a very good standing chance at chasing Superman down to finish him off.

p.s. I'm pretty sure juggernaut(sp?) is the strongest charactor ever(no I didnt say mutant) not including demi-gods or gods.

Phoenix could take him though... Cosmic entity with the power to destroy the universe. Hmmm...

And yes. Juggernaut is nigh invulnerable. HOWEVER, Onslaught whooped him but good. Smacked him around in Canada and he landed in Westchester NY. (Thanks to the Crimson Gem of Cytorrak)

What about Apocalypse? I think he could give BOTH Superman and the Hulk a run for their money.

acutally hulk leaps into space in one of the comics and falls back to earth like a comet per say completely on fire and fully regenerates in a few moments in another comic, but see there we go counting in supes speed yes he is faster then hulk but flash is faster then superman so from the info i have gathered if it were to come down to an all out brawl not putting in flight and things of that nature and does ne one really believe hulk is gonna let supes carry him into space or let him have the time to do it????i dont think lol ....so from what ive gathered hulk would be the victor in a fight...but 100+ ton isnt anything compared to what hulk lifted against onslaught 150 Billion Tons....id like to see supes hit the weight bench for that one

Now onto the silver surfer there again like in the pic using a blast to keep a distance between him and the hulk because im sure he knows that he could go one on one with the hulk seeing as hulk is much stronger then he is so onto that question in a strait fight who is gonna prevail out of SS and Hulk???and yes SS's strength lies in the superhuman 100 ton class but like i said hulk lifted 150 BILLION tons when fighting onslaught i dont think anyone has come close to lifting that except maybe Galactus

but see there again using his "cosmic energy" type of thing but also on that note the more pissed he got the hulk the stronger hulk would become therefor eventually making it to where the silver surfer wouldnt be able to restrain him unless silver surfer can lift between 100 and 150 billion tons

Cool. Another Silver Surfer fan! Used to read them awhile ago (the new series with Nova calling him Silverado, the Elders, and Ron Lim as the artist). Is that series still ongoing? I have #1 somewhere at my parents house (probably want me to finally move all that stuff out after 15 years!!!) :)

Good call ed...the Punisher's the man.

While I agree with a lot of Havoc's comments, the general consensus and popular culture idea of Superman isn't exactly like that either. The way Havoc describes Superman makes him closer to the bad guy in "Superman 5", where he had to charge from the sun to stay active. Superman does derive his power from the yellow sun, but I really don't know if I would say the real idea of what Superman can do is dependent on how close to the sun he is or how much he's soaked up. If so, villians would just always attack him at night. Also, he's been shown in comics and movies before not needing to breath in outer space for periods of time way longer than five minutes. So, it just becomes which version of the story you choose to believe.

Superman is far more intelligent than an average human, and more intelligent than Batman too. Here's why: He's from another freakin' planet! :) While good 'ol Batman is a genious in his own right, he's still limited by the amount of knowledge we have available on Earth. Superman came from a planet far more advanced than we are, and part of his maturation process was learning from his father's information. He knows more about Science and the universe than anybody on Earth for example.

Anyway, the overwhelming problem I see with any of these "My favorite superhero can whip your favorite superhero" debates is the comic industry itself. Over time, all of these characters have gained, lost, or changed powers and versions of themselves so many times it's convoluted. "It does matter which Hulk..." is the same as saying "It does matter which Superman" too. I've seen in comics where Superman from a much more modern decade does bigger and better things than the Superman from, say, the 50's. It's just people's imaginations growing into bigger realms at that point. I doubt when the Hulk was first created he was supposed to be able to lift 150 billion tons because people back then didn't even fathom a need for that.

It's like the whole "Superman vs. Muhammed Ali" thing. They scaled that down for that comic. Well, they also had a TV show with the Hulk being played by Lou Ferigno. He was a pretty big guy, but they never showed him lifting some crazy 150 billion ton object. Even in this new movie you see the computerized Hulk struggling for a few seconds to rip the turret off a tank. If he was really strong enough to lift a mountian, he would have torn it like tissue paper. The point is, they change and alter what these character's all can do over time so it's basically a pissing contest. All I know is, if I could choose one superhero to be, it'd be Superman because of all he can do. Also, if I could have only one superhero as an ally...I'd still choose Superman for the same reasons.
