I think its a bit of a price gauge, but it'll settle back over time.

I learned to stop yelling about gas prices when I found out that Europe and the rest of the world pays well over twice as much as we do... the poor bastards...

what is sad about gas prices in the bay area is the fact we have a refinery 20 min away, yet have the highest gas prices in the nation.

According to CNN, the price jumps are because of the Phoenix pipeline break and the blackout. Neither of which affected South Jersey, nor the refineries in Paulsboro/West Deptford. Yet, prices have been rising by the day. There are not deliveries every day, ergo the only answer is price gouging!!!

                This is really not good!!

Dude, Scott, you have no idea! Being unemployed like my sucks! I go through my couch looking for change to fill my tank! Its ridiculus! It was 1.66 yesterday in my town! Thats OUTRAGEOUS!

Me too, I only fill up for 1.66 in my dreams

I drove by Fair Oaks (mom and pop station by me, always the cheapest gas around) today and it was 2.19.

Well... the scary thing is that here in Phoenix we are in a bit of a gas crisis

about 2 weeks a go a gasoline pipeline between Tuscon and Phoenix ruptured or something and we are all types of short on gas.

Basicly imagine a city about 100 miles wide with 3 mile long lines at nearly every gas pump for 3+ days. as of now we are down to 1/5th of the stations having one grade of gas at no less than 2.25 a gallon.

Yeah, it blows, because NJ traditionally has some of the cheapest gas prices in the country (because the majority of the refineries are here), AND we get full service for that cheapness, we don't have to pump our own gas, HA!

But anyway, prices SHOT up in the past week or two. Two weeks ago the Coastal station near my house was $1.35, now its $1.59. Exxon went from around $1.45 to $1.69.

I vaguely remember paying $1.19 or less for gas not too long ago... damn wars and stuff.

$1.96 for regular here...$2.07 for the super stuff...highest i've ever seen it around here. and yknow what? price gouging, while illegal, won't be stopped unless the people either boycott gas or make a stand verbally. but neither will happen, so the monopolists (if that's even a word..) can keep raising their prices and we'll keep buying their gas.

ps- i feel bad for you ppl who live in CA...for multiple reasons..specially LA....
