Well I would just do what a guy in NY did. Declare myself an independent country and file for diplomatic immunity. (I dont think this will work but the guy has got to have balls to say this to a judge) Hes sought of like the guy who got caught cheating on his taxes by filing for his dog. He told the judge but I loved him like a son.

How are they finding out who is downloading music or not? Is it through the ISP or something to do with kazaa itself? I wish artists would go independent

See, most of the time when I download a song, it's just to see if I like it enough to go out and buy the full quality cd. Otherwise, it's just me downloading one song, because the rest of the cd sucks. They thought that they had the answer to this with singles....but I dont want to pay 8 bucks for a single song or two. And I think they are trying to scare people...everyone that has come to me for help to make sure that kazaa is off their computer and that they are safe, are scared. Some of the girls were even crying because they are afraid that they could be sued any second.

Whatever they're doing, it's working. I got rid of kazaa...I don't want to risk it.

If you're scared that the big bad RIAA is going to come after you, then fine, turn off kazaa, but whatever you do, don't ever go to a record store again. This is America, people. We do not live in fear of terrorism, be it from the middle east or from the desk of Matt Oppenheim.
