Current Economy dictates staying in School right now. Prepare to take advantage of the upturn. No real need to take whats out there if you can delay a few years. It always turns around and an education is an investment. But cash that in when the market is good for it. Not now. A few years from now it will be.

BUT!!!! That does not mean in a Grad School nessicarily. Not always. There are some trades, as Sam and Tuna point out. I would love to go to ASME Motorcycle Mechanic School or something myself. Takes a year or two and adds to your versatility if you already have your BS or something. Never hurts. Fun too.

However law school is good for you CB. I think its were you need to be. It struck me right away as the thing that fits you. Go for it.

Look into Welding if you want a good hands on job. If I wasn't going to college, I could have a free room/board, truck, and benefits, plus 40K a year welding a pipeline in Australia. However, it would require living without the people I love for 8 months at a time.

But seriously, Welding is a field that is slowly thinning because people "think" it's being dominated by machines. The reality is this, it's not. There will always be a need for thin guys who can do pipe welds 500 yards into a future gas pipeline. Plus, welding gives you a nice tan.

CPhilip, how is Columbia, SC, for a city and the University of South Carolina, for a university. (I know I am asking you about the same as you asking me how is Auburn, but please be truthful )

One of my advisors today turned me on to the Moore School of International Business. It is the second highest ranked international business school in the US. The only downside is no Russian program.

While I have my own issues with "large city based" University's in that I would prefer not to live in a big city myself. You however may not have that aversion. Other than that it is indeed a top notch program and if you wanted to study business it would be a great choice. Columbia gets mighty hot in the Summer. But there is lots to do there. And its not far from Charelston and the beaches of SC. No more than 2 hours drive. I think that school had a major restructuring and endowment a few years back with Ms Moores involvement it has soared to the top. Good program. I think its the kind of thing your looking for. I was not aware they had no Russian program though at USC. They do have a good Law School as well though. As does College of Charelston. And it is located in the Capitol City so there is advantages to being in a Law School that is so closly connected to the legislative branches and all...

I am sure USC has a Russian program, but in the international business field you pick a country normally and your education is about business ties between the US and that country, and the Moore School of Business doesn't have one for Russia.

              Thanks for the info.
