Our basic channel choice is 5 terrestial channels and then it is into the realms of cable and satellite..the only thing you have that is allowed on your tv that we didn't until recently is the bashing of a competitors product while promoting your own...your politcial election commercials crack me up as, if either side was telling the truth and were accurately quoting their opponents then I would never vote for any of them.

I was being sarcastic man youll be ok. You said you shouldnt hide what we know, how come? What happens when a little kid is flipping through the channels and stumbles upon something innapproiate for someone his age? You need censors man. Dont think I hate all forms of British television, Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of the great contributions to society and BBC's unbiased television makes for great viewing pleasure(j/k buddy)Still not having censors is just wrong.

Even for a brit I do find Monty Python overated...Spike Milligan and his Q series of programmes now that is funny but very much an aquired taste.
Bean isn't my thing either...at times it was funny, the xmas special IS very funny but the films and the cartoon no sorry way too much watering down.

I'm going to have to agree with Johny_Reb's first statement. As much as I hate TV censorship, it is very much needed. Not everyone is as old as us that watch the tube, and I know for a fact that I wouldnt want my little one watching some of the stuff that they show on British television, as much as I love it... That's why I was a bit perplexed when they started spouting the S and F word on a nationally watched show that is being viewed by audiences of a very spread age. For instance, look at all the little kids that were on stage singing with Shania, definately not old enough to be hearing such things on TV, imho.

Your programming schedulers may have lost the plot..if it was live not a lot you can do about it unless it transmitted on a delay...like "live" radio chatshows are. We don't allow F though pretty sure that S will appear well before 10 pm...we call it the watershed when little impressionable children...should be in bed...we know that isn't the case but then the timelimit has been set and stuck to..if a show that starts before 10 but doesn't say F until after then it's allowed and no complaint can be made...do it before and your show will get yanked. Presenter Jools Holland (former pianist with Squeeze) said in reply to a band that were about to or had just been on that they were "groovy F***ers" he lost his job and the show when down the toilet as he was the lynch pin for the show and this was on 6pm -7pm show...he is now back on TV but this was many years after this "outburst".

Censorship does have it's place and you might have noticed that although I do use american phrase's from time to time I still and will still use the term Marker rather than G** as there is a political climate within my country that is very anti-G** and I won't give them any typed help in their case...see me in person and of course I will use the word G** but not online.

You would have to look for online video sales each series was an advancement on the previous Q2 Q3 etc it stopped in the 1970's but then as some of your channels still run Benny Hill so you should be able to find some videos

And yeah, our live shows, such as the Billboard awards are broadcasted with a delay to allow censoring of such things, as is everything else thats broadcasted live on the major networks.
