    I don't think there's anything wrong with being evangelical. But when the only point of letting people know is just that, to let them know, its probably better to exhibit those beliefs through actions; in you case, not drinking, smoking, etc.

    I guess its about the motivation you have for wanting to tell someone about your beliefs. It shouldn't be just about other people knowing that you're straight edge, or Christian, or whatever.
