Not really. It's a Philosophical stance against promoting Homosexuality as normal. It's in tune with the basis in Christian values as some see them. And I don't see anything wrong with that really but its not got anything to do with them thinking exposure to Gays will make them be Gay. That would be rather ludicrous. But indeed they do have "something" against them... or they would not ban them from being Scoutmasters. They do not think they should be Scoutmasters and leaders. So that is "something." But I would defend their right to chose to do that. No one that disagrees has to join right?

Some people see being gay is wrong, but that's from their opinion, i don't study too much about that.

i only asked my scoutleaders to clear it up for me, cus i been getting some hate against boy scouts locally stating that we hate gays.

from all i have been told, they only said its a safety issue. if there is another reason, i dont know bout it yet

Well thats probably because they just do not know or just do not want to discuss it. Because its really not important to you and Scouting why they chose to do that. In a lot of cases I suspect its because they are afraid some homophobe would accuse someone of something if they found out there was a Gay Scoutmaster. Or they would lose members and Scouts if they allowed it. I dunnot but again... its thier right to do it.

If i were a parent i would not feel comfortable sending my child on a camping trip with a homosexual person. Im not bashing that community, but i dont think that it would be a good influence on a child who would see a leader as someone impressionable.

Seriously though .. stuff like this iritates me..... The government shouldnt spend any time worring about stuff like this they need to be spending money fixing our school system first and formost and then spend the rest on bombing small countrys into submission.

I think that as a private orginazation you should be allowed to discriminate against anyone you care to discriminate against. Will you find me being a part of any of these?.. no proboly not. But they have every right to discriminate as they are a private orginazation.

People need to start doing the things that make them happy... and stop worrying about what everyone else is up to so much.

I wouldn't want my children around anyone who lives abnormally, contagiuous, or not. No homosexuals, no polygamyists, no pedophiles, no rapists, no murderers, no theives, no alcholics, no drug users (casual or otherwise), no hippies, etc. Not becuase I would be afraid o them catching something, but becuase I wouldn't want them exposed to a bad influence.

Wow, that pisses me off. I usually support the ACLU, but they definitley have their down moments. Why the hell aren't they protecting the rights of the scouts to run their organization the way they choose?
