Around town I fill up once a week which works out to 1/2 a tank. On the highway I start looking for a station when the guage reads between 1/4-3/8.

at a 1/2 tank I fill it - then again I drive a demo car off the lot and would hate to see a customer get in it empty, oh yeh, and filling it involves sending the gopher (as in the person who goes for parts) to fill it so....

But everyone who has mentioned it is right, 1/4 tank is abotu as low as your vehicle is designed to run with as far as fuel - for the fuel pump. Besides, even gas, in small quantities has been known to pull a diesel trick and get too thick to flow (though I have not seen that in some time).

most of the time i fill my car at 1/2 tank and fill it up so i dont have to pay as much. even though i am still paying the same. also i put the higher octane gas for my 8 mpg ride.

Wow 600 miles on a trip....I'm lucky if i get 300. But that was with a leaking injector i replaced. I usually wait til empty, drive it 3 more days then fill up, my fuel pump is built into a well, so that even empty it still has fuel to keep it cool and lubed.

oh my bad... you wanted for a car.... usally around the 250mile mark... which is usally around 1/4 left i did get about 350 out of a tank before i just could wait to put more in but that was drivin out to il from ma for the first shatnerball.... even then the needle just hit the E line and it still only took 11 gals to fill it (14 gal tank)

Yea. But remember that is a 38 gallon tank too....

This past late spring I went from here in Upstate South Carolina all the way to Chicago on a tank of fuel.
