What does our society have against nudity?

In magazines, television, advertisment, etc? We're all human, we all know what other humans look like naked. I really don't see what the big deal is. In Europe I've seen prime-time advertisements for shampoo exposing entire women naked. Thoughts?

Firstly, don't answer my question with a question. It's an easy way to perturb people. So I don't look like a total idiot: I'm 18...I've seen my fair share of nudity, I'm not trying to start some revolt so I can watch a prime time porno. Nudity and porn are two different things. I'm not talking about porn.

i was jsut talking to my spanish teacher about this. Go watch a spanish channel, they'll be half naked women on there and they dont make a big deal about it. The one thing our societ has that they don't. We show violence, lots and lotsa violence. On their video games they can't shoot humans, they shoot aliens, they bleed any color EXCEPT for red.

A thousand plus years of social evolution. It's just the way things worked out. The human psyche combined with the cause and effect of the physical world. You could spend your whole life studying the subject.

Funny story, a new cable service started in my area, and the first week we had it one day there was porn on the public service channel for a few hours. I thought that was pretty funny. "You will like us even more, free porn!" Also, we don't get any porno, its not like direct tv.

Well we do!! I do not understand why you are so mad. If you want to know the laws in your state look Here If you do not like the laws change them and do not attack me for telling you the reason we are against nudity. Laws are a big part of why!

You need to calm down. For a while, you have seemed to attack anybody who opposes your oppinion. Southpaw gave his oppinion and you got all pissy because it wasn't the same as yours. At the end of your first post, you said, "Thoughts?". We're giving our thoughts. I didn't even think sotuhpaws post was meant to be funny, just a statement that had a little cockyness in it. My thoughts on the subject? I think that nudity has its time and place, and I don't think that nudity belongs in the public. It's a private thing and I think it should stay that way. Go to Europe so you can watch your nude shampoo commercials if you're that mad.
