Athletes should not get special treatment!

Thank god I am graduating in a few months, but I cant stand how my school operates. If you play football or basketball, you get special treatment and you have it so easy. Seniors are told if they get 3 suspensions they cant go to prom or class trip to Florida, but I know 3 kids who play football that have like over 10 each and they are still participating in school activities and i know 4 kids who dont play sports that have 3-4 suspensions and are barred from participating in school activities. Football players also get a break in academics, teachers let them off easy, give them easier tests, and give them a passing grade that they dont deserve.

A few months ago the star football player went crazy over his ex girlfriend, and harrased her in the halls, gripped her up, went into her class and started throwing desks and cursing her out. What did he get......2 detentions. That same kid yells "I cant wait to get out of school, im drinkin a 30 pack, smoking blunts, and doin some derns! I LOVE COKE!" He literally screams it in front of so many teachers, and they all know he does coke, but he doesnt get in any trouble. If it was someone else, theyd get drug tested in a heart beat.

My close friend pushed a girl....and got thrown out of school.

GOD I hate it so much!

Life isnt fair? Well this is just ridiculous. They should not recieve such treatment. We are treated like prisoners, while athletes are showered in gifts. It should not happen, I DONT CARE. Go ahead, flame me.

schools believe in guilty untill... well your just *POOF* guilty end of story.

my parents are teachers and they have to basically cradle them because of open enrollment and they make mucho buckos from sports.

I was going to play football this year but opted not too, figuring id probably get broken in half. But there is 2 sides to the spectrum. Theres the 3rd stringers, who get some breaks, then there are the starters, who get crap handed to them on a silver platter.

Welcome to my high school too, I am a senior and was a starting D End and Strong Guard (played both ways) and I was on Kick Off and Punt.

I got alot of special treatment, and I felt with the three hours or so I spent after school for practice and the long summer two-a-days ,and lifting sessions, in the scorching heat I had earned at least some special treatment by at least me piers. Teachers gave me breaks on tests, barely ever got into trouble, I think being an ambassador of your school to other schools should meritcertain specialtys to the students participating.

We work hard when we dont have to, at least thats how I see it.

why does everyone seem to need to ***** about what other people have and you don't? They have something, talent in sports, that you dont have. its valuable. you prolly have other talens, that rae just not as valuable to the school. stop complaining...jeez...

                              Look at it this way.

Right now, they have talents that shine more than yours. So they get more attention, special breaks.

OMG, that sounds familiar. Sounds like the real world!

The people with talent make more money, they get noticed more, they get more breaks. Develop the talents that will make you a "star athelete" in your chosen profession, and then you can look back at high school and laugh all the way to the bank.
