Hey Manike does anyone else in your family have Lucid dreams? It seems like people in my family have very vivid dreams very often, I don't know if they're lucid though. Mine are vivid, and lucid about half the time and I've never tried So the point that I'm getting at is that it may be something genetic or maybe in how your are raised.

Thats an interesting point, maybe it is genetic.

Foo, stick with it, its a process. Most people are not naturaly lucid. Everyone's had a lucid dream before, but it takes superior mind control to induce a lucid dream. Unless you're manike or vf-xx . Those guys are lucky.

To make dream recall easier, set your alarm clock for 3 stages throughout the night. Once at 2:30. Then wake up, write down your dream(if you had one), and reset your clock for 5:00. Wake up at 5:00, write down your dream in your designated notebook(with your designated pen), then step out of bed. Stand up for a minute. This will help with lucid dreaming. Then hit the sack. When you wake up you should definately remember your dream, and your chances of lucid dreaming are increased 20%. This helps greatly. With focus and concentration, this is guaranteed to work. Everytime you go back to sleep, just ask yourself to remember your dream. And about the sub-lucid thing: it is very possible to have that. As long as you're thinking about it and concentrating your thoughts on it, then theres a chance it can happen. But for proven results I would stick with the process.
"Men think they think upon great politcal questions, and they do; but they think with their party, not independently; they read its literature, but not that of the other side; they arrive at convictions, but they are drawn from a partial view of the matter in hand and are of no particular value. They swarm with their party, they feel with their party, they are happy in their party's approval; and where the party leads they will follow, whether for right and honor, or through blood and dirt and a mush of mutilated morals."

gmag, my family's vivid dreaming isn't as cool as it sounds. I'm pretty sure that my dad's is linked to his sleeping disorder, and sometimes I wonder if i'm getting it too. I stay tired even if I get plenty of sleep. the dreams are pretty cool, but I haven't decided if they're worth it yet.

wow... my first night of trying i remember 3 seperate dreams(I usually dont remember any). I woke up in the morning and was like crap i dont remember any. THen i went in the shower and had a strange feeling about something and just concentrated on that and it all came to me. I did repeat the i will remember my dream thing before i went to sleep. I think i have good potential. No lucidity yet(maybe for one thing but not really) but for my first day im suprised.

                So glad I read this

OK SO YOU WANT A STORY?

I do this a lot. I just read this post and realized how often I do things like this. They usually happen on a friday or sunday when I am thinking a lot. I have dreams that I am at my job ( Burger King ) and I am taking orders. But I can never seem to complete the order because I kinda zone out in the middle of it. Thats when I realize that I am dreaming withing a dream and for some reason I try to awaken myself from that dream ( within the dream ) and get back to taking the lady's order. Its weird....and when I actually wake up, I am all comfused and fuzzy for a moment.

I also have read books in my sleep. I know I am dreaming and I know I am not really reading the book, but I am reading blank pages and saying what I think is going to be on the page in my head and I hate it. It really pisses me off and then I try to wake up. Its hard

Does it smell like updog in here to you?

I used to lucid dream back when I was into it alot. Things that usually help are eating popcorn and definatly trying to remember your dreams. Another neat thing to do when your lucid dreaming is to look up into the sky--there's some pretty nifty looking things that your mind comes up with. Theres also a few devices you can get that alarm you when your dreaming so you can become lucid.

I had a semi lucid dream today! Too bad it wasn't very vivid, it was a black and white type dream... I controled what people said and it was really funny!

Wow, already? Thats cool. These past two nights I've been having really crazy dreams. Extremely vivid and I was very active in them. I felt unusually tired when I woke up. I'm still trying to analyze them.

2 weeks ago after i went paintballing i had the coolest dream.......................I dreamed i was riding home in the car with my friends eldest bro and my other friend and i kept goin this one i could have taken over and over again. I just kept obsessing over it in my dream. Then out of the blue, my friends bro says, why dont we go back? Sooo he turns the car around and it falls off the divider (my pb field is up in the mountains) And we fall off the side of the moutain..............This happens about 8 times in a row just keeps reapeatin........The Car goes in slow-mo about 8 times and it keeps showin the car blow up....and then i reappeared in the Matrix lobby scene.......Then i was at the ocean.......Then at the Taj-Mahal (ive been there 3 times), and i was standing the the dome of the Taj. After about 3 seconds i slip down the side of the dome and i just slide and i fall threw the air and awake on the floor of my bedroom. Thing is, i didnt wake up, my in-dream thing did. Its kinda hard to explain

I'm too damn lazy to learn how to lucid dream. The only thing that I would even want to do is sit on my arse playing video games. I do everything I want to do in real life.
