      interesting subject

i dream with a fairly high level of lucidity, when i have dreams where for instance im screwing up my life, i can stop, relax and tell myself its ok, im only dreaming. i visit many places repeatedly, sometimes years apart. i almost always have vivid color, and senses, including pain. i can sometimes reenter dreams at will, or hold onto themes for my entire nights sleep.

and miscue, i too have dreamed about code. pretty handy eh? usually its the really nagging or complex problems that keep me preoccupied during waking hours.

I haven't gone lucid in a long time... I always catch myself dreaming before I wake up but then I wake up... My dreams have been more vivid and colorful though...

I read throught this whole thread yesterday and decided to try it. I had a dream that sort of went lucid.

I was standing by my bed hitting the edge with a short wooden rod and there was another me standing by watching. So I was like wait a second, there aren't two me's, this must be a dream! So I started trying to do stuff. I made myself stop hitting my bed and I was like, Sweet! Then the dream started to fade and I dreamt that I was in bed with someone shaking me awake. Then I actually did wake up.

            It was cool.

I think I had another dream about the Ebola virus, but I don't remember.

I found this very interesting and timely as I was just dreaming last night. When I woke up in the night I remembered the dream and realized I wanted to share it with some friends. I thought about it really hard and went back to sleep. When I woke up the next morning (today) I recalled I was dreaming, but it wasn't till I was in the shower trying to think about it that I remembered it. Its in 2 parts, but the first half is what I wanted to recall, the 2nd part just seemed to come allong as part of the package deal.

Part one: My parents finally decided to let me leave my crappy (private) highskool and go to the local public one I've been wanting to. Only they put some wierd requirement to it, which is just the sort of thing they'd do in real life. Its sorta depressing knowing that even my "dream parents" are annoying and evil as the real thing.

Part two: I somehow ended up on the balcony on a roof of a house belonging to a good friend (tho it wasnt his real house) and I was guarding some colombian drug deal going down in the driveway by me. Only the cops came and i had to shoot at them, and I shot down a helicopter (I actually had some control of that), but then somehow the police relased a bunch of monsters on everyone and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Thats where I woke up really damn scared.

Obviously the first part is pretty self explanitory, and the second part I think comes from me having been playing Grand Theft Auto 3 (playstation2 game).

I woke up this mornin and I was still tired. Might lucid dreaming have an effect on the actual ammount of sleep that one gets, and how rested you are?

Ok, since this is already long I think ill keep goin with a few more stories.
I have a friend that used to have some real bad dream and sleepwalking problems. One time he got up and did his laundry while he was asleep, and asked everyone who did it the next morning. Another time he got up and walked out to his car and tried to drive it away, but woke up when he realized the key wasnt in the ignition.

The closest I've came to that is having conversations with people in my sleep, in which I usually say the opposite of what I want/would normally say.

I found this whole message thread very interesting. I'm going to try the techniques tonight and see what kinda results I can start getting.

Thanks all (for putting up with way to long a message) -Matt

I think the nature of your dream kept you kinda tired... I woke up really tired today... I had a strange dream though. It had a lot of running and other physical activities... I dunno...

At first I was kinda confused when I had the dream. I was trying to get away from a manager of a restaurant, which was blind. I could control stuff that would pop up... I gave myself optical camoflauge and I shrank myself to hide. Strange thing was that the blind man found me with no trouble. Then I made myself normal again and started running... That man was pretty damn fast for someone who was 60. Then my dream went out of control and all I could do was watch... The manager caught me and pushed me onto a space port gate like in anime. Then I was stuck in the middle of an episode of cowboy bebop! lol, strange dream...

Mostly I just feel like upping this thread, but I did manage to have another very lucid dream last night/this morning.

It's wierd cause I was having a fairly random dream, then got woken up by a car horn (stupid neibors). When I went back to sleep I then had conroll over most of the dream. *details are unavailable on this forum*

lol, it's weird... sometimes i forget that I'm lucid dreaming and it goes back to normal... I stopped trying to experience them though because I think that dreams get wayyy too random sometimes...

hmmm... i woke up extremely tired this morning... I wonder what I dreamed...

                            Man...

I can only remember 2-3 occurences of lucid dreaming....

I remember how pissed I was when I woke up and realized it was only a dream....

It's like I can walk to that building over there and go inside it, all this stuff in my imagination.

but this was like only 2-3 times. I can't even remember the last time I dreamed.....

Hey what was that book again?
