      The dumpster of giving

LOL... one of my brother in laws buddies works for chrysler and he'd always go out to the dumpsters behind the development building and get these wicked cool prototype viper parts and stuff like that and sell em on e-bay! He called the dumpster "the dumpster of giving"

I make regular trips out to the dump myself and can usually be found raiding the metal pile

well, Ive found some intresting stuff in the dumpster next door( its a Verizon switching station's)... a phreaks dream... really, namely when they were upgradeing stuff... boy did I get a lot of old junk...even a half gutted PackerdBell... good stuff...

Also, theres a FretoLay Distrobuilding a couple miles away, when I was younger we used to skate down there, play hockey in there parking lot due to it being mostly empty... used to get a LOT of free chips, dips, etc... boy that was hot fry heaven let me tell ya, even got in tight with the driver... then we got told we had to stop or be arrested, there new manager threatend to call the law on us... and we got caught skateing down the service road as well, and yelled at in that same week....so... ya we stopped, but man... they threw out A LOT of good chips and stuff, as long as they were sealed and in the printed date to be eaten or 5 days after(the freshness consuption stamp) we would lug em home... man... those were the days..

next town over we were walking around, we found a couch in an alley, and tried to take it home...but someone came out and yelled at us...so we droped it and bolted.... also have found like cow heads and bongs in the dumpsters...needless to say we avoided thouse...and desided it best to stick to the local dumpsters...

lol, last month I went diving at the local welding shop looking for a new sheilding gas nozzle....I never did find it, but I did find an unopened spool of fluxcore wire and a pair of perfectly good TIG gloves that apparently belong to or belonged to steve.

My best find ever though was a lounge chair at the hospital.

theres an abondoned farm across the street from my farm, and i found a HOVER lawn mower (push mower not riding mower). its insanely old and the engine is rusted to hell, but its sweet none the less. if i knew anything about engines, i might have brought it home and made it run. if you guys dont believe that its a hover mower, and jsut a mower with no wheels, the brand name is Flymo. look it up on the internet. i also found a thomas edison phonograph in perfect condition from around 1912, and it still runs too! its got some southern country track on it. coo coo cool.

                        Real pickin's

If you live near a University/College/high end prep school, this time of year is the best.
The out of state rich students will dump their whole rooms rather than bother shipping it home at the end of the year. The dumpsters will be chalk full of perfectly good furniture and appliances.

Never did it myself but was clued in and did notice the full dumpsters the last week of classes.

Guy that I used to know worked for a Trash company. He was one of the two dudes hanging off the back of the truck.
The route that he ran was an upscale area , and it was quite amazing the things he would bring home "off the back of the truck".
They got to keep what they found , and anything that was really good got split up between the whole crew. He got brand new shoes all the time , good clothes , all types of electronics and computers. It was really trippy. He made more money selling stuff he found than he did working.
